  • Motorola 68000: What is STEQ, STGT, STLT, etc?

Hello. Using Gens tracer I have found some opcodes called STEQ, STGT and STLT.
I tried to google them but google always corrects me and shows me results for "STEP" (even looking for "+steq", even using "quotes", even using -step, etc),

Well, I haven't found any info about this opcodes. I think they are conditionals just like BEQ, BGT and BLT but I'm not sure what they are for.

    Thanks in advance

Don't recall seeing those before, but you're probably right... The EQ, GT, and LT are probably EQual to, Greater Than, and Less Than. If you figure it out, post your findings.

A little heads up on a minor problem with Gens Tracer assembly logs. Whenever it shows a 50xx "add" instruction, it incorrectly shows it as adding #0, but it is actually adding #8. The assembly is correct, it just shows the wrong number.

    Example: 00:103C 50 8F ADDQ.L #0,A7

    Should be: 00:103C 50 8F ADDQ.L #8,A7

EDIT: In case you haven't seen it yet, there is a VERY useful list of 68000 instructions (by Puggsy) in our Library: http://gamehacking.org/library

EDIT2: In Puggsy's list, you'll find: SEQ, SGT, SLT, as well as others. Not sure if they're the same as what you're looking for, but you will get results with Google (ie. 68000 SLT). The "S" stands for Set.

If you go down to page 276, you'll find the, "Set According to Condition" operations. Probably GENS has a bad mnemonic ("ST" instead of "S") or else they believed the True and False flags were part of the directive.
