  • PSX Hacking Emulator?

I'm sure this has been answered elsewhere but I didnt see it.

Is there a good Playstation 1 emulator that includes a hacking utility? I'd love to be able to hack playstation games, but I dont really have much time at home right now. If I had a nice emulator I could, however, try hacking codes over my lunch break at work from time to time.

I noticed the CEP program on the GSHI website. That looks promising although it doesnt look as if it would allow you to make gameshark codes unless you used some type of conversion (but I hope I'm wrong).

    Any suggestions?

The best right now is "pSX", which has a debugger (with a memory viewer). But there aren't any with hacking functions built in that I know of.

And if you need the dll it's very likely to complain about: http://www.gshi.org/downloads/d3dx9_26.zip

I currently use PEC from http://www.emucheater.com/
this function as psemupro2 video plugin, so it can be use in many emulator. it has fairly large game cheat database. it can run most gameshark code too. it has decent search memory function.

Hmm...I didn't know PEC had a search function. Cool.

there's also cep too(surprised Lazy didn't mention it) to hack psx codes too...personally I like cep better...because it works for more then psx emulators, and has codetypes so you can use joker like codes for PC games...

Sol already mentioned CEP. But yeah, it's a great prog, but sometimes isn't too stable.

This is three shortcut I frequently use on PEC:

CTRL+G = calling cheat database, for ticking cheat option
CTRL+H = calling cheat finder, for load/save or search
CTRL+C = calling code screen, for entering gameshark code (I use mainly code with D0 or 80)
