[Help] Cheat to unlock all stars in Super Mario Galaxy

You only get the "luigi unlocked" message after beating bowser with 120 stars.

I'm testing incrementing the address numbers and instead of giving me stars, the codes are removing stars. Even when the value is FFFFFFFF. I don't understand.

you can poke addresses after (80F63044) 04F63044.

address 80F63048 and 80F6304C changed the high score value of collected coins in space junk galaxy.
And yes, could be possible that 80F63040 handels the value of collected stars of the space junk galaxy. that would explain the strange increment of the total amount of stars.
Hmm.. maybe we could find something useful if we set a breakpoint on read there. i will give it a try later

Good news, I have found a look up table that tell the game how many stars of which galaxy are unlocked. I think I can make a code to unlock all stars, soon

Unfortunately for me, I thought the code was never going to get made... so I ended up just finding all the stars on my own

But, I only did it with Mario. So if that code also works for Luigi, then it will not be for naught.

This is PAL, right? Is it gecko or AR? I'm playing on Dolphin (emulator).

Is there any way to modify it to 120 stars? You're not supposed to get the 121st star until you beat the game with Mario twice, and twice with Luigi, and then you have to beat a secret level only unlocked after doing all that.

I'm starting to think there might be different pal versions or something.

The first code you posted (121 stars) did not give me any stars, but, I did see that the boss level for the first world was unlocked and I only had 1 star. So the code was doing something.

The second code you posted (120 stars), is not doing anything at all for me.

Tomorrow I'll make some more tests (it's late here :P).

It should give mario a giant head when you press C. But press it only when he is in a level. not elswhere.

Big head code worked for me. That's so funny to see haha. When I pressed C it didn't do anything, but once I went inside a pipe and pressed C again, it worked then. I guess I had to make the game load a new area before the cheat too effect.

By the way, I tried the codes again and the new one too. The 121 stars code definitely does something, but it doesn't give me all stars. The boss level is unlocked in the first world, I beat the boss and opened world 2, but in there the boss level is not unlocked. The new code, again, actually doesn't even let me unlock a level, even if I have the stars to do so.

Hopefully more people are able to test the code and give their input.

And by RAM dump you mean my save file so you can load it on your system? Sure, here's a pal save file with luigi unlocked and two stars collected.

All you have to do is copy that file to the SD card you use on your Wii to keep or transfer your save files.

I hate to be a bother, but if you are going to make that save for me, could you make two saves? One with 60 stars (or around that number), and one with 118 stars (or around that number, but not 120).
The reason is because 60 stars is the point where you can beat the game the first time and get the first ending. And 118 stars, or around, because if I use 120 stars, the game might think I finished it a second time, and I would lose the ending message I'm looking for, which only happens specifically the second time you beat it, not the 3rd or fourth.
