  • Earthworm Jim (U) Sega CD-can't find any values

Been looking for a 'number of bullets' value in Cheat Engine and so far nada.
I know it can be done but even using "All" in my search produces nothing, let alone exact values or float/double. (Was hoping 1000 bullets equaled 100.0 or something) Does anyone know what the technique is for games like these? I've had the same experience in a couple others and not sure how to proceed.
    Thanks

You can find your answer by looking at the codes for inf ammo for Earthworm Jim in the Genesis section. There are 2 RAM addresses for ammo. Just use a genesis emulator that supports RAM searching and watch those RAM addresses when shooting your weapon. This should allow you to see how it works. The Sega CD version should be the same.

I see the codes in the Genesis section

Name:	ram.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	31.0 KB
ID:	162702

and tried using gens hacking version to view the RAM addresses but no dice. Doing the best I know how using info from this guide.

I haven't used gens before (assuming it's even the way to go.) Do you have any quick tips for tracking down the RAM addresses so I can view the ammo changing?

The codes you posted pictures of are ROM addresses, not RAM. All Genesis RAM addresses begin with "FF" (ie. FFxxxx:xxxx).

My bad. This is a little (actually, a LOT) over my head. I see them now but gens keeps knocking my laptop internet adapter out so gonna forgo anymore attempts. Thanks for hinting me in the right direction.
