  • Making Game Movies

    Hi!

Can anyone explain the best method(s) to make movies of games being played for upload here or on YouTube? I know how to make FM2 movies on FCEUX, but I wondered if perhaps it's simpler to use a webcam or smartphone.

    Any advice will be appreciated!

Real hardware you need a capture card like the El Gato HD. For emulators many have ways of saving the gameplay maybe using the emulators for speed runs or recording versions are what you need.

I just made my first primitive game movie, "How to get 255 rupees any time in "Legend Of Zelda". Unfortunately, the audio failed to record, but the movie aint too bad. You may view it on YouTube at "zelda 255 rupees". If someone wantsta upload it to this site, be my guest...you have my full permission, and it's not copyrighted.

        Phil,

I recommend using something like Bandicam if your wanting to record windowed or fullscreen games (has an adjustable record window size). The free trial has a 10 minute recording limit along with a watermark in the free version, but there are ways around that if necessary... I look forward to seeing some of your recordings.
Not taking any requests at this time.

Thanx! I used Debut Video Capture for my first little adventure.

Nobody will be uploading videos to this site, but you can use the video bb tag to embed a youtube video. Edit your post above to see how easy it is.
Please put all complaints in writing and submit them here.

One question; Which sub-forum should I place posts with embedded game videos?

NES Double Dragon 1 played thru with codes

Here's the entire NES Double dragon 1 played thru with "Codes At work", on the FCEUX 2.2 emu:

Moderators: If you wish this post & others like it to be in another sub-forum, I'll understand. I didn't know which sub-forum to place it in.

All codes are found in this site's database. Also, the video can be expanded to full-screen, same as on Youtube.

NES Double Dragon 1...Get All hearts, with or without codes

This cheat works without any game-enhancer codes on, with an emulator, but I don't know whether it does on a real NES console or not.

You must get the Williams nearest the red girders to stop at or very near the place I did, and be sure to go ALL THE WAY left far as you can go. And be sure that Williams doesn't get killed if he tosses his dynamite.

                    Goofy NES Contra Cheat code!

I found this in the "Codes Without the Bullshit" page, and I thought it was the weirdest code I'd seen for any popular game, so I made a little video of this "Code At Work". The code is AEIIXX.

                    It's so weird it's hilarious!

You must be killed once before it works, and be sure to inactivate any "Have Weapons" codes you have on. Also, do not pick up any weapons or "Rapid Fire" icons.

It does not work on Stages 2 & 4, so before starting those stages, inactivate it or you won't have any weapon at all!

Codes At Work: NES Batman The Video game: Have Super Gun

This code by Mega Man in the database lets Batman start with a Super-Gun: 00A6: FF. Once Batman has this weapon, he cannot switch weapons to use any other. Here it is, at work:

For most enemies, this gun kills'em with 1 shot; same for Dropclaws.

Here's a video of PS1 FF VII with codes at work, all of which are in the database here.

The codes include "all Items", "All master Materia", "Complete Menu", "One Hit Kills", "Ultimate Code", and Nolberto 82's latest "No Random Battles", "Turbo", & "Makes Dialogue Faster" codes near the end of the list in the database.

While I made this video while using the EPSXE emu, the codes work equally well with PCSXR or any other emu I've used that uses Gameshark codes.
