Need Help in Using Cheat Engine...

    Heya...
I'm still new in using Cheat Engine... so can anyone enlighten me how to make a character keep having effect without using item?
For example, using a Killer Spell makes the character inflict more damage with red glow... something like that...
How to make the 'effect' long lasting? Can give me a guide? Thanks =)

Use the item to start the effect. Do a search for an "unknown value". Now continue doing searches for decreasing values while the item wears off. That's how I found the zombie zone item codes you requested.

Hey, I followed your instruction and it seems I got it... Another thing is, if the item is used but the 'effect' is ONLY decrease when being hit, how to do so?

And one more thing is... let's say I got the address... but what value should be put for in to work?

        For example...
2089F9C4 0000???? <-- how to know what and which value to make the effects on going?

And oh yeah, is it possible for PCSX2 to use save game files from the internet? namely codebreaker save game files...
If yes, how to do so? And thanks for the guidance... =)

Well, does the ps2 emulator allow to save raw/uncompressed RAM dumps? (sorry if this is said before, too lazy to read every post)

Oh, Hi! Err... I'm not sure what you mean by RAM dumps... LOL... What's that?

An option to save the current state of the emulator's virtual RAM. Just got an idea about code searching with RAM dumps and cheat engine

edit: I've found an external tool to dump the ps2 RAM from the emulator and it works. I'll try to search for cheats later^^

I still don't get it what you mean by those RAM. LOL. I mean what does it really do? Is it like save the game progress or what? I'm not that advance yet.. hahaha... Can enlighten me a bit? I saw most these words, "dump ram" but don't know what actually means..

The RAM stores everything that is currently going on in the game like 3d models, textures, functions and everything the cpu executes. cheat codes are also written to the RAM so the cpu executes what we want.
If we can dump the RAM of a game we have the current state of everything that was going on during the RAM dump.
My idea was dumping a RAM dump and opening it with cheat engine. After we have hit the "first scan" button we can open the next RAM dump. For instance, if we are searching for the address that handles the speed of an object we have to do a "bigger than" search for the second RAM dump if the speed has increased.

Not sure if you used this or not but google "pcsx2dis". Real time ps2dis using the pcsx2 emulator.

I see. Thanks Cosmo. Still, I need guidance and help in this issue...

How to make codes for the following...
                      - Item is used but the 'effect' is ONLY decrease when being hit, how to do so? How to detect which address?

I'm learning bit & pieces from ppl who can guide and help me... so yeah, am sort of like compiling into a book...!

Btw, Harry62 & Cosmo - using dump RAM is better than the emulator is running while scanning or...?
                      Just curious... ^_^
                      LOL...

I'm aware of PS2dis but it doesn't allow me to have a look for everything stored in the RAM.
By messing around with PCSX2 RAM dumper I have seen it comes with a Cheat Engine for the emulator. But its usage is a bit weird.

I've got a lot of results for my known value search. But nothing is displayed. And no idea how to enable one found address as cheat

WOW~ Looks so complicated... And it seems comes with umm... few features too, including 1-click "Make Joker Code" button. But like you said, nothing is there despite you have found many results. So, how to know which is which for the right address to make codes? O.o"

Harry62 - Can you guide me on how to make the Item Effect first? The one with no time limit item "effect". As like I said in previous post, the item effect only decrease when being hit or fall down. How to locate for the right address for this?

PS: I've managed to found the Item Effect you taught me earlier with Decrease Value. That's because the Item Effect has time limit. =)

pcsx2 save states are gzipped, which 7zip can open.

The method I use however, is to use cheat engine.

Bring up the memory viewer and select save memory region. Then uncheck the box at the bottom and save memory region from 20000000 to 21ffffff.

You use a near identical method to find the code. If the enemy has to hit you in order to decrease the "effect" then search for a decreased value after the enemy hits you.

                              @CosmoCortney
You probably have too many results to display. You will have to keep narrowing it down to display the results.

Already thought that since dolphin's cheat searcher behaves the same way. But wasn't that sure. The problem is that I can't refine the search in this case because most values of 0x3F800000 are constant.
Or can I use the "Step" button to dump a smaller/partial memory range?
