Remake or More Advanced Level Editor Request

If anyone could make the super mario bros. 3 workshop more user friendly like ccmap was for building levels on c&c where you can actually click on and select items to add to level, I would really appreciate it. I can't find any way to do this on current build. I want to make a remake of Super Mario Bros. 1 within the Super Mario bros. 3 engine with the better graphics. Originally I was thinking of doing a remake of Super Mario 1 & Lost Levels to Super Mario World, but there is no break away bricks in that game or even goombas
