Request: Battletoads NES (Game Genie) Code for 0 Lives

Hey y'all,

Was hoping for your expertise and assistance in making Battletoads stupidly difficult. I found the following Game Genie codes below, however, they're not quite working as intended.

PENVZILA 1 life
TENVZILA 6 lives
PENVZILE 9 lives

The 1 life code seems to give two lives (your current and one in reserve). As I don't understand the code structure, what would need to be changed to make a code give 0 lives (none in reserve).

I don't think Battletoads needs to be any tougher. Or are you patching the code to a ROM and sending it to a friend as a prank?

It's for a competition this weekend coming at Play Expo in the UK. We're putting gamers up against the turbo tunnel with a single life to see how well they fare - the highest score wins a prize

I have hard-patched the code onto a ROM file along with the level 3 code which will allow us to run the game from an Everdrive N8 cartridge on the original hardware. Gamers simply need to sit down and press start to begin.
