  • Final Fantasy VI Advance Codebreaker Codes (GBA NTSC-U/J)

    This allows you to choose what item comes up for bidding at the Auction House in the town of Jidoor.

    The code needs to be jokered to prevent the game from freezing.

    Auction House Modifier (L1+Left)
    74000130 01DF
    8200059A ????

    Auction House Modifier (L1+Up)
    74000130 01BF
    8200059A ????

    Auction House Modifier (L1+Right)
    74000130 01EF
    8200059A ????

    The values are as follows:

    177C = Golem Magicite
    1980 = Zona Seeker Magicite
    1AC4 = Angel Ring
    14AF = Angel Wings
    1C20 = Excalipoor
    1E09 = Hero's Ring
    23DE = Zephyr Cloak
    15FA = Talking Chocobo
    1F5F = 1/1200 Scale Airship
    24F8 = Robotic Imp

    Simply press the joker combination while the text "Okay! Here's our next item up for bid!" is being displayed.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The following values I'm not sure why this happens but could be fun to mess around with.
    Haven't tried anything beyond 2780 so there might be some other interesting stuff.

    2752 = Gilgamesh battle at the Dragon's Neck Coliseum (Don't know what happens if you defeat him, but losing takes you to your last save automatically (in World of Balance at least))
    2780 = Sends you to the Dragon's Neck Coliseum but you can seemingly only fight Typhon but if you offer Excalipoor you fight an Onion Dasher and then Gilgamesh after that. Upon exiting the coliseum you end up where you last saved. (Only tested in World of Balance)

    Might aswell throw this one in there aswell. Not that it's of much use, but it saves you the trouble of having to run around and talk to all the soldiers and having to choose the right answers during the conversation.

    Best Imperial Banquet Outcome
    32001FC2 005D

    (I do not know who the original hacker of this code below is, but I know I've seen it)
    Decrease Timer (R+Select)
    74000130 02FB
    3200118A 0001

    Sets the dinner timer to ~4 seconds remaining to skip the waiting time. Best used with the code above.
    Can also be used as the opposite, to increase time during other events in the game by increasing the value.

    ------------------------------
    Can't seem to edit out the auction house part of the topic title in case I decide to post more codes for the game as I go along.

        Infinite Morph Duration (In Battle)
        32003F31 00FF

        On its own you will need to get enough AP to be able to use morph but it won't run out for the duration of the battle.
        Combined with "Morph Time Maxed For Every Battle" you can morph and revert as many times as you want and the meter will never decrease.

        -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        I can't seem to locate what controls whether or not the Trance button is active in battle. I was able to make it white as if it is selectable but still skips the option. The reason I'm looking for this is to negate the need for AP to use morph (which would also negate the need for "Morph Time Maxed For Every Battle") but I am failing to find out what reads the Morph Maxed to enable the Trance button in battle.

          Approach Cid's bed, press L+Select and then talk to him and he will have fully recovered without the need to catch fish.

                I recall visiting that site some time in the past when it was still up. Didn't think about using Wayback Machine to access it. Thanks lee4.

                Have 22 Corals (R+Up)
                74000130 02BF
                32001FD0 0016

                Hit R+Up before approaching the talking chest in Ebot's Rock and feed him the corals.

                Edit: It appears that this shares the address with Cid's health (see Cid Fully Recovers above), and the value resets somewhere along the line. It did stay at the value for Cid's HP for quite some time so I'm not sure when the reset occurs or if it affects the game in a negative way.

                As a side note: the reason I put jokers in most of the codes is because I've never been a fan of constant write codes.
                While I am aware that there are other conditionals that would allow the codes to trigger in specific moments, finding them isn't always an easy task. A joker is simple to make and doesn't require much from the player either.

                      You could try finding the flags for events and and use that as a conditional.

                        Yeah, that's what I would ideally want to go for but without a debugger event flags or mods are hard to find.

                          Just a heads up on those who are encountering a missing airship bug on the early parts of the game, specifically after recruiting setzer and having full control of the airship
                          If you happen to be using the code Save anywhere from the database
                          http://gamehacking.org/?game=4582

                          Final Fantasy VI Advance (USA)
                          Save Anywhere
                          32001EB7 0080 <---- instead of 80 add 6 to bring back your airship

                          Code:
                          Final Fantasy VI Advance (USA)
                          Save Anywhere and Enable airship
                          32001EB7 0086
                          i based the values from the previous port on PSX

                            I had to dive in to the RAM in order to isolate this only to realize that someone already did years ago. I saw it in the web way back archive. Some people say its a buggy code but i find it pretty stable only if you invoked it on the right time, Anyway to further clarify this particular AP code
                            Code:
                            In Battle code: Max Ap Code (hold select when exp points received appears)
                            74000130 03FB
                            320000FB 00FF
                            I tweaked it with joker command to prevent bugs in the first part of the game, because in the first part of the game aka WOB the code may cause little bugs in battle like freezing a character, making a character float after death and have interceptor counter even if shadow is not in party. We have to remember that you have to be on a certain point in the game in order to acquire AP. There are two key points in the game about this particular address, the first one is when you acquire your first set of magicite on the WOB and the next one is recruitment of Terra when the world is on ruins aka WOR. On the early parts of the game for some weird reason the game takes note of how many AP you gain. You can observe this by not being able to see how much ap you received if you have learned everything that all equipped magicite can teach you where as in the world of ruin after you have re-recruited terra the game starts not to consider how much you gain(depends ofcourse on the field and the veldt area is always an exemption) . Its imperative to fire the code when the exp points received appears to avoid the bugs in the game. Any way i just realize FFVI is already 20years old
                            Addendum* just have terra on party to prevent bugs on WOR

                              Well using your code I could make an ASM version so it can be on always with not ill effects, I just need to make it far enough in the game to start earning AP.
