  • Widescreen codes - PS2

I will submit here some so called "widescreen codes" for PS2 that I personnaly tested and got working (using PS2rd, on real hardware).

I claim abolutely no credits for these, as I dont make these, only tested these. This thread is not a single-man thread, so if you have some others working codes, you are welcome to add these here.

    Widescreen codes :

Widescreen codes are code created using PCSX2 emulator with cheat engine, that will increase the FOV (field of view) for PS2 games that doesnt support it natively. So it will give a real 16/9 render for your PS2 games (not 4/3 streched into 16/9). Use them on a 16/9 display, and your PS2 game experience will be enhanced.

    4/3 streched to 16/9

    Widescreen

How to get these codes :

For some game - a lot - you need no hacking knowledge to make these codes into RAW. A large database (over 600 games) already exist. These are in the pnach format type, to be used with PCSX2 emulator. You can get these existing codes into RAW, and use it with your cheat device, by converting the matching pnach file using Pnach Converter tool, by pelvisthrustman.
You can also MasterCode finder to find the mastercode of your game, if it doesnt exist yet in the gamehacking.org database.

If there is no widescreen code for you game, you need to create it. I cant help you for that, there seems to be no universal methd to find these codes. Give a look here for how to make these : http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-PCSX2...3852#pid213852

There is an version of PCSX2 emulator which makes Pnach files out of date

I can not support MasterCode finder due there are no license, no read me & no credits (original authors of each master codes types) text files with the program or on his post.

If you want me to remove link for Mastercode finder, simply ask, and it will be done. I can understand what you're saying about no licence, no readme and no credits, but yeah, blame the guy, dont blame the tool, it's quite usefull, and very simply to use for newbies like me.

Thanks for the link for this PCSX2 built.
