  • Cheat engine PS2 hacking related issue

Hey, everyone, I have been experiencing with cheat engine for quite some time now, with practically every game I have tried to hack for the PS2 platform, with Cheat Engine,

The problem I'm experiencing is related to the unchanged function in Cheat Engine itself whenever I'm hacking a code of any sort, and use the unchanged value in Cheat Engine to narrow down the existing search results it automatically deletes the address of the code I was looking for in the scan list of cheat engine?

Did anybody else ever experience the same issue I'm having, with Cheat Engine before?

Also I hope this is the right thread section of the forums to post this question in.

I'm not sure if I fully understand what the problem is.
I also use Cheat Engine for nearly every RAM scanning I do for almost all systems.
Unchanged is used if the value has not changed since your previous scan.
Also note that you can compare to your initial (very first) scan.

So another words, there are 2 types of unchanged scans:
    1. Unchanged value since the last time to scanned.
    2. Unchanged value compared to your initial dump of memory.

The problem I'm having is with the unchanged value, where the value has not changed since your previous scan. whenever I used that to narrow down the searches in a code it deletes the code from the scan list? making narrowing down the searches impossible?

        I still don't understand...
If it's deleting the code from the list on the left, than the value changed (a.k.a not unchanged).

How is that making narrowing down searches impossible?
It would seem that it's doing just that, narrowing down the list of possible cheats.

It does narrow down the list but it happens to completely remove the address from the list I'm looking for, so in other words it's like the unchanged value is acting like an changed value in the cheat engine?

What kind of scan are you doing?
If it's a single byte, try switching to 2 or 4 bytes.

Other than that I don't think I can help you any further.

A timer code, but I noticed the problem occurs with just about every code I try and hack, example last time I tried to hack an infinite health cheat and got the same problem and then the time before that I tried hacking an unlock all levels code which resulted in the same problem?

Did this ever happen to you be Lee4?
