  • Shining Force 1(Sega Genesis) Control Enemies

I saw at a game website that the control enemies console controller code, is for the Japanese version and I can't find a console controller code/cheat for the English/USA version of the game. If somebody here can find the button direction controller cheat for this game, I would be most thankful. It's weird they made it for the English version of Shining Force II for Sega Genesis, but not Shining Force 1(at least not that I know of to my knowledge). I have to admit, the one for Shining Force II, was not fun trying to memorize 14 different things you had half a second of entering at the Sega logo screen even though I mastered it for SFII.

For example, on the Shining Force II game for Genesis, you press up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, up, right, down, left, up, and B when the Sega logo appears. You have to be very fast at doing this on an actual console since there's only like a half-second timeframe of how long the Sega logo stays visible(on the screen). You will hear music at the Sega logo screen if you did it correctly and have to keep the start button held down even after you have loaded the game file to make the special options appear(i.e. turbo speed, game completed, control enemies, etc....).

off topic, but ive been playing with the shining force 2 code recently-have gotten battle select and story flag select to work
its very extensive, it looks like, will take me a while to find everything it does.
found a PAR\game genie code for battle select\chapter select on shining force 1
as far as control enemies for number 1, has it been confirmed to work on the jap version-have you done it yourself?
if not, i'd be less inclined to trust it.

The website I got the Shining Force II Debug Mode code from that I mentioned above here, is located at the same website. I've used that website for many other Sega games(on different consoles) and all cheat codes have worked for me. As for the Japanese version of Shining Force 1 for Genesis, I haven't tried it yet, but if you press up when the Sega logo appears, it automatically goes to the title screen on the USA region of the game. Not sure if it does the same thing on the Japanese region one since I've not yet tride the code on that one. Since I don't speak nor read Japanese, I'm hoping there is a button cheat for the USA region one. Lol.

It was a pain for me at first getting the Debug Menu cheat for Shining Force II to work, but once I memorized what it is I had to quickly(emphasis on quickly) press at the Sega logo screen, and got it to work, it was(and still is) very rewarding. The only drawback to this code, is that it can only be used if you have your game data saved by the Priest in the game. In other words, if you are playing Shining Force II on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, and you press the Select button and save the game that way at the P1 Option Menu window, you won't be able to use the Control Enemies code then in that way because you have to choose yes when the old hag is talking to you.
