Dammit, I wanna help, but I don't have FF8 or any form of PSX right now...if I had the game, I'd emulate and test digits with PEC or something. Any chance you could upload a disc image for me to grab? Heheh. I'll probably have it sent to me from home at some point, but that'll be too late, I'm assuming. Somebody should drop by the topic soon. I'll mention it to whoever I see.

now i have the game and emulate it,but i think the code is wrong
hmm,the value is always 0 it doesnt change.
perhaps somebody could hack this code?

That code is deffinately not right. I might work on trying to make one of these again, but... I haven't had much luck in the past.

Yeah, music mods are a bitch, but they always feel like an awesome accomplishment because of the combined forces of their being said bitch, and being actually semi-useful, heh.

About the best I can come up with is something that alters the piece of music directly, though changing the sequence data (as I have done in FF7...). But that isn't much use unless you can do a download/upload to both main ram and to the sound processor... Which sure ain't happening with a gspro...

Has anyone found a code to get Laguna's battle music in all battles? If so then that might be a good start. If not then I'm starting to get interested in trying a few things.

:? After seeing this resurface the past day or so, I was looking to try a few digits til I see that code does not work at all, so now, I am like all others, wanting the code as well.

I have the game, though without the working code errr what ever that code is and whereever whomever it came from, no idea, but it is no music code.... a shame was looking for digits, being as Czar said, 'Man with a machine gun' is some nice battle music.

Well, maybe someone will figure the code out and such, not really my thing, but is a ncie effect if doible, that we still have to see, as is from what I gather 'music' mods are 'iffy' alot.

I think the code was hacked years ago, but has been lost to time... I think it went the way of the codes to fix the usage of monsters as characters codes... Sucks really...
