I hacked the NES Tiny toons some time back. Pretty much I changed all the characters in Tiny Toons to Super Mario characters. It recieved a good amount of fanfair when I released it. That Tiny toons was quite Mario'ish. Especially the final level. I think Nintendo actually ripped some graphics from that level for Super Mario World.
Yeah, they got a couple games. One is a Hack of a Rescue Ranger like game. The other is a Super Mario 1 all stars "port". I prefer that SMB1 port. It held my attention for at least a few worlds.
I think the SMB1 one is the one I've got. It's called super mario world, and it's wierd because you can't smash blocks with your head, stomp enemies, go through pipes, or get any of the traditional powerups.
Yes, that second one is the one I mean.
It's obvious that it's a hack/homebrew from the moment you begin to play. The fact that the characters have bloated graphics, the fact that none of the standard features of a mario game (like smashing blocks, etc) are present, the fact that each level is only 2 sub-levels long, etc. I still like the graphics on it though.
