  • Sonic the Hedgehog '91 Revisions 1 and 2 GG/PAR Codes (another code/request thread)

I've just today found some STH1 codes for Sega Genesis. I will flesh them out though so there can be some space between all codes being posted at once. New codes I've found and if I find any more will be posted daily, weekly, biweekly, you get the picture.

To start the thread off, here are some palette codes and some other codes.

(I'd like, if they are not already, to be added to the database, especially the Instant Full Speed and Instant Stop.)

    JATT-ARNC - Night Green Hill
YATT-AGPL - Gold Scrap Brain on daytime
    JATT-ARNL - Grey Labirinth Zone
    JATT-ARNW - Marble Horrible Night
    JATT-ARPL - Monochromatic Scrap Brain
YATT-AGPC - Daylight Spring Yard (BRAZIL)

BDBA-NPL2 - "Glasses" TV on Labirinth Zone
A82A-NPPA - "S" TV on Green Hill zone

    960A-CABY - Instant Full Speed
    960A-CAB4 - Instant Stop

Are these Sonic 1 or sonic 2? On the site we just have revisions 0 and 1, the 1 being Japan.

Sonic 1. I believe that the stage palette codes will work on all versions except for Daylight Spring Yard, which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I am POSITIVE that all of the other codes work on Revision 00 ONLY.

No because they wouldn't know what game you're talking about. There are two games under the name Sonic the Hedgehog, one being the original Genesis game, referred to as Sonic 1, and then there's the PS3/360/PC game under the name Sonic the Hedgehog, called Sonic 06.

                Working:

                Instant Full Speed
                Instant Stop
                Gold Scrap Brain On Daytime

"Night Green Hill" is actually even better than a basic night-time code. It makes Sonic look like Metal Sonic and the HUD and enemies look glitchy too.

The rest did not have a visible effect in the emulator beyond glitching the title screen.

9 and 10 have to be enabled together or 10 won't work. The Gold Scrap Brain only works on the Brazil copy of the game, which probably explains why it doesn't work on US/Japan.
