  • SNES Lufia and the Fortress of Doom enemy codes?

I am sick of flighting the Sea Snake, Jelly Bolt, Starfish, and Evil Clam. Where in the Lufia and the Fortress of Doom ocean is the Lobsteron, Psychoclam, Killer Eel, and Red Star?!!! It's probably random, I know...

What I'd like to know is whether there are codes to ensure you get certain enemies in random fights. If so, can someone please tell me? Thanks!

    Image/Enemy Modifier (2nd Enemy)
    7E13D3:XX
Unsure if this is an image modifier or enemy modifier. The colours are messed up. This happens sometimes in games.
Colours I have described below may switch around depending on the other enemies in the battle. It seems like abnormal enemy configurations cause the funky colours.
All tested in the first dungeon at the start of the game. GFX glitched can mean funky colours or just discoloration.

Hmm. I'm not sure whether this will allow me to get those specific enemies that I've listed above.

It should. I did a search for this game and there is a gross lack of visual information available. The monsters that have images up on the Internet I have labelled but the list above is approximately a third of the total number of enemies at best in the game.

If you can find a monster list that is definitive, I can label each monster accurately without writing my own description. I did not see one. Until then, my detailed descriptions should suffice.

Heh... I saw the list - and replied to it - when it only had four entries, so that was why I wasn't sure. I will try this and let you know if it works!

I agree - not much detailed visual descriptions for this game's enemies.

The SNES had a lot of great RPGs and I remember never playing Lufia 1/2 myself. I have updated the list above and it's possible that it is only an image modifier. We are much further along than before so I will see what else I can find. Quantity digits for RPGs are generally the worst to sort-through so at least that list seems to be complete!

            Edit:

            Image/Enemy Modifier (1st Enemy)
            7E13D2:XX

            Image/Enemy Modifier (3rd Enemy)
            7E13D4:XX

Nice of the programmers to seemingly leave them beside each other. I used '01' for all 3 addresses and got 4X of the pumpkin-head men. Can there be more than 4 enemies on the screen at once?

There should be a fourth line. Let me know.

Thanks for the codes - haven't had a chance to try most of them out yet, but they seem to work for what they're describing.

Yes, there can be more than four enemies on the screen at once. I have fought five Blue Skulls at once, more than once.

Thanks to your codes, I was able to get three out of the four I'd been missing. Couldn't get the Red Star for some reason.

Did you try "1B - "Sea Urchin?" (Star-Fish Like With Scales Underneath)"? That was the only enemy I can recall that looked like a star.

I did. That was the ordinary Starfish.
