    FF7 Materia

Sadly, that's about the state I'm in myself. There doesn't seem to be such a thing as a memory editor for playstation emulators. In fact, very few emus in general have one.

Though each FF7 save is something like 8 KB each, they don't store things like the equipment/materia stats. It's only in memory because that sort of thing is used constantly in the game. If it was a cartridge system, the game would be just reading it off the ROM, and not fooling around with sticking a mess like that into memory. Or something like that. Heh...

It's too bad most psx emulators aren't open source... Somebody could add decent hacking functions and cheat support to one if they had the source code...

Crap. Ah well, that would make things easy wouldn't it?

I do remember reading in a few threads here that people use ArtMoney/TSearch/other pc hacking utilities. Is there a guide someplace that I can read that shows me how to convert those addresses into GS addresses?

I'm not sure there's a guide, but it should be fairly simple to do. Just rehack an already known code, such as the ammount of gold/gil/type of money starting with G you have. Once you've got that, subtract the GS code's address (and make sure to remove the first two digits of the code). The result should be the converstion between the emulated memory and what it'd be on a real console.
