  • [NES] Mappy codes request

    I want somebody make a GG codes for NES game "Mappy":
    • Invincibility against enemies and when falling onto a floor instead on rope. With exciting @VisitntX AVISVZ code, sometimes happens the player to falls and freezes and then is need disabling that code before you can continue;
    • Infinite time in normal stages. There is no timer in them, but you really have a limited time to complete current stage - when your time expires, on screen appears a scrolling flashing label "HURRY!", as then enemies becomes faster, and music speeds up too;
    • Infinite time in bonus stages where the player gets a bonus when collect all balloons in entire stage - 15 small red balloons and one big lightblue balloon;
    • Press Start or Select to complete current normal stage.

    I hope anybody make some of these codes, if not all. Thanks in advance!

      I thanks for your GG codes. Generally of them work fine, except "Invincibility (Enemies and trap floors. You will turn into a cat icon temporarily when falling through a trap floor.)" and "Ropes Don't Change Color When Jumping on Them" codes.

      With "Invincibility (Enemies and trap floors. You will turn into a cat icon temporarily when falling through a trap floor.)" GXEIOZEY + ASSSXZEI code, you'll get a issue with abnormally growing points in your score in normal stages when your player falls through trap door or you break a rope and fall into the pit under it. Below I'm show a screenshot with problem in second case with breaking rope and falling into the pit below.

      About "Ropes Don't Change Color When Jumping on Them" SZOVZXVS + SZOSNKVS code, in bonus stage there is a place with a rope which you must broke before can continue to complete bonus. But your code make it unbreakable (i. e. I can't break that rope) and there is no way you to pass that rope to reach the end of bonus. Therefore I'd wanted you find a way that code to work only in normal stages, but not in bonus stages.

        It's amazing how every time somebody takes the time to fulfill your requests, you have to find every little thing wrong with the codes they made.

                Well I am unsure what causes the gain in points, but technically you just wanted to survive the fall through trap floors (which the code does). I may take another look at it, but I will not promise a resolution.

                One of the codes control the normal stages, and the other controls the bonus ones. I am unsure which is which since I'm at work, but I'm sure you can figure it out before I arrive home.

                I am glad that you test the codes out (many users really don't), but when the user starts nitpicking over little issues is when it makes people not want to work on the user's requests. Hopefully one of your issues will be solved by disabling one of the "Rope" codes, and the other maybe if I find a resolution. You have to remember that codes (no matter who creates them) are not guaranteed to work flawlessly due to the game not being programmed to "do" the things implemented by the code originally. I will take another look into the Invincibility when I get home.
