    HUGE Chrono Cross Code(s) request type.

    I think I figured out what's going on with the names. There's a list of the default names, and I'm pretty sure it copies a character's default into the area where the name modifiers are at. The only problem here is changing the default names doesn't save, and it's limited to the number of letters in that name. There's no extra space around. Seeing that's the case, I've started looking for the digits to the room where you can change character names at...

      ah well, that is a kick in the ass. Oh well will look for what you can find on that room mod.

      Kinda strange and an ass kick still by the programmers for this game, I mean well, 'most' characters remain whatever you named them when you do and use the new game plus, and yet some go back to defaults always. It is like kinda saying 'hey you never played this game before so we will NOT show you are able to get Zoah and Karsh and such charatcers til you play to that part.' It is like saying that when you just are 'replaying' the same game all voer again.

      Reminds me of that EGM mag way back when this game came out and they reviewed it and someone wrote them a letter 'bitching' about 'why the hell spoil' the game showing a party of Lynx, Karsh and Zoah fighting together player controled.

      So just is a surprise and shocking that the programmers would do that mess....

      Otherwise other then getting to that room mod right away and otherwise, I will ask, please if you could look into and maybe 'break apart' this enable all charatcer code, please?

      Now not sure the math stuff he is saying, but am wondering if those codes can be 'broke' apart to have each code more or less pointing to one charatcer?

      The code I have for ALL charatcers is:

      800719A0 FFFF
      800719A2 FFFF
      800719A4 FFFF

      Kind of the 'classic' 30 = 8 bit, 80 = 16 bit so 80 gets 'more done' with less code.

      Anyway 'wondering. if once that room mod if figured, if also this can be considered, please? Thing is you 'need' characters in your 'party' to name them. So all charatcers 'mostly' would be needed, YET having all charatcers does hang up your game, as gets you stuck in the game, I tested this a few times before.

      The character 'Sneff' in your party will get your game stuck, but all others seem 'okay' to have.... even when fighting themselfs (Zoah vs Zoah does not mess up) But Sneff does when that whole turn you into cats thing and he being a part of the party, even if not in the group he still is never there to turn you into cats. Thus the game messes up there.

      So otherwise, wondering a code to 'enable' all charatcers BUT Sneff, if that could be made, pelase so to get around that and nameing all characters in the game from start with that room mod, so can and could anme them from the first step, after Sege's dream and game opening.

      Otherwise, the whol name thing otherwise, strange as mess, Sneff is one charater that has his name remain whatever you named him in new game plus...odd, the only ones who 'revert' to default are ofcorse those whom you must 'fight' at one point or another. Strange and 'stupid' of the game's program, is again as I said like hey you played the game once (or a million times ) but we programmers think you do NOT know yet who will join you and not join you. all other charaters names stay as you named them...kinda corny of square but ehh hope this is all doible otherwise.

        I think they were being kind of cheap about the game. For one thing, they even reused that one background from FF8 in one of the movies. There's no telling how long going through the rooms will take, other than less time than it would to get there by playing the game.

        Okay, looking at that page you linked, that's actually just the "have all characters" code broken up. To have all the characters except Sneff, it'd be:

        800719A0 FFFF
        800719A2 FFFF
        800719A4 0FDF

        The 0 there probably should be in the Have All Characters code as well, but somebody was too lazy to bother.

          Darn this one was falling back there, anyway a bump up so that LMZ can get his code and add it to the site and also if need be Hybrid also can use as far as help in game for getting codes I requested from him about the innant colors.

          So just a bump and ahhh knew I remembered this code being around somewhere here, so please to add it soon, someone, and Thank You LMZ for it, that sneff is a bastard, and ever sense the game came out even on the 'older' GSCCC days, people have been fussing again about all characters yet 'sneff' messing the game up, so this is a real needed one to be added "ALL character BUT" type code.

              heh I figured sense you said in Hybrid's topic you had the code but could not find it anywhere in your notes where you wrote it down. (soooooooooo happy when moving to this forum, all was transferred over nicely) So otherwise recalling this whole topic sense I made it all that while ago, I went to the third page' and bumped it so well could be added.

              As is again it IS the ultimate 'all' character code for Chrono Cross.... true does not give you everyone, but it gives you everyone BUT the one fellow who messes the game play up, so is perfect.

              Heck, just wish there were more codes like this for 'other' many charatcer games, Suikoden 2 has the same mess an all character code messes up all because of one lone charatcer.... blahhh but still anyway, this is the perfect code as said, as far as 'all' characters.

                Hmm... well I know about the 'extra' (cough) area where you can meet with some very special, displaced characters, one of which can change names as well. Not sure if that's what you meant. Anyway, if you could warp there then, yes, it should solve that problem.

                And I agree, an all characters code is always nice, but again, there's a few issues with that. There was a character swap code, but if you chose certain digits (dragons, cats, etc) there were big issues (trust me, speaking from experience), so a code that allowed absolutely everything that's 'playable' to be selected for the party would most likely cause more problems than a tactical nuclear grenade being thrown into an antique shop.

                So if it's working, what all characters other than standard are available (if any)? Cause if there's anything unusual that doesn't freeze/worse the game/save, then I'll just have to pop that sucka back into my playstation after years of collecting dust, lol

                    Ah. Maybe she only posts on CMP these days. I'll find out about the characters for myself whenever I decide to look around for my game disks. Lol, one of many double jewel cases in my game drawers.

                        Always. I am always impressed by the game overall, especially for when it came out. I still consider it to be in my favorite games list. Anyway, I had always wondered why they bothered to create a placement for characters that you could never have in your party, especially seeing as how the game doesn't work when you try to inject them. I assume at some point someone tried replacing Serge with some of those characters, at the beginning or at some point when someone is by themselves in battle, so that there would be a higher chance of success in getting to actually fight as them (or at least see them show up), because it might be the other characters getting in the way that causes the problem. It's a long shot of course, and the fact that the dragons and whatnot would obviously have a different command entry list (which most likely wouldn't have been programmed as a selectable list, rather a variable response system for when they are the enemy) would probably mean that even if you caught a glimpse of the character/etc, the game would freeze if you did anything. At best, we'd have another Seperoth situation - freezes under some conditions.

                          well there was a code to play as that knight that you fight in some island , he was one of the characters brother, cant quite remember his name so other characters might be possible.
