I really want the hacking Spider back codes (or party modifier if that's what you call it) for the JPN version on PS2 and GC.

Do I need to buy an AR? If so, which one?

What kind of ARMAX should I purchase?

My PS2 is SCPH-50007 (Taiwan, NTSC-J) but is modded and can play US games. This is game is in JP of course. Can an ARMAX from North America work?

Also, what other tools do I need? Could you also give me a tutorial on how to do this?

If you look around the net you can get a cracked version of Codebreaker and those codes will work in that since they are raw format.

Did you buy your codebreaker or did you download it? Which version do you have? (And I assume it works for this game).

I brought it 7 years ago at EB Games.

As now Codebreaker is out of print and discontinued as of 2008.

Codebreaker 9.2 is best version for all games.

As for Gamecube you are stuck using AR because there only one cheat device for it.
