  • Code request...NES Ninja Gaiden 2, NG 3

I have tried & tried to hack a code allowing Ryu to start with and keep his two shadow warriors in NES Ninja Gaiden 2.. I have also tried unsuccessfully to do it with both PAR and ZSNES in Ninja Gaiden Trilogy.

Also...The sword upgrade for NG 3 shows the swoosh when Ryu swings the sword, but the lang-range effect isn't there. I have found several other codes for both NES & SNES which make the swoosh appear, but not the range enhancement. Any and all help will be appreciated.

Also, I'm gonna have some free time during the week in which I hope to do s'more hacking in NES & GEN codes. God Willing, I'm gonna tear into SNES this fall or late summer.

    Regards,

    Phil

For Ninja Gaiden 3, the sword power up address is located at 1CC38(AZXKEGAP? the gg code may need corrected since I took a guess when converting it). By changing that byte alone will give the regular sword the power up.

Here's more addresses pertaining to that

1CC34 (PAXGKGAA?)start with sword power ups
    1CC38 (AZXKEGAP?)

1CC35 (SZXGSGSA?)continue with sword power ups
    1CC38 (AZXKEGAP?)

One thing I forgot to mention is that the sword power up codes are missing the graphics for the sword extensions but they work correctly

      YAOIYOPE

Once again, I leave it to the requester to give the code a decent testing, since I'm not done with my current leisure activity, one which is taking a great deal longer to finish than I had initially anticipated.

        GOOD WORK!

Chalk another one up for Ugetab! The code works perfectly throughout the game, at least as played on FCEU. I played the game several times, being sure to commit Ryucide several times in every scenario and chapter.

The FCEU interpretation works perfectly also. It is:

        D117: 015
        Compare:9
        Check "Read Substitute"

        Again, thanx, Ugetab!

          Ninja Gaiden 3:

Start Each Life with a Mega-Sword(This makes it so you start and continue with a sword that can hit several areas of the screen at once. Collecting a sword upgrade will negate this effect):
          YYXKEGAO
          YYXKKGYE

Start Each Life with Sword Upgrade(The first code only enables the graphics, so it can be ignored if needed):
          PAXGKGAA
          APXKEGAO
          APXKKGYA

Gosh, Thanks for the work and codes on these games, I must admit, I do not have Ninja 3, nor the SNES 'Triology' yeah yeah should have got it, when I had the chanse, but the 'music' differance turned me off on it really, I must admit. (same music but different 'melody' on the SNES Trilogy version)

In anycase, thank you both for the nice Ninja 2 code to have two shadows, a really nice codes that I always thought should been made and now has been.

Thanx for your additional work, Ugetab, and to you too, Gedowski!

It's nice to be able to simply post/discuss games, codes, etc. on a site w/o all the petty bullshit arguments that have nothing to do with VGs . Don't we have enough of that in our everyday lives away from all the electronic gizmos?

I agree with you Phil the Hammer. All the same, I remember (6-8 years ago?) Ugetab was taking code requests for snes games, and he was the 1st person to answer and help me for codes that I needed when people usually ignored or flamed you for asking. Ever since I've been trying to help people out as well

I can't seem to remember being in much of a position to help anyone that long ago. At most, I must have pointed you to someone else's codes.
