    I'd like to please request Game Genie codes for (NES) Super Mario Bros. 2
    • Luigi jumps/floats like Princess
    • Mario jumps/floats like Princess
    • Toad jumps/floats like Princess
    • Princess jumps like Mario
    • Luigi jumps like Mario
    • Toad jumps like Mario
    • Princess jumps like Luigi

    • All Characters instantly pick-up items/objects
      • (There is no wait time/struggle when a character picks up a plant/item/object)
    • Can carry enemies through doorways
    • Can carry items/objects through doorways
    • Always be carrying a plant
      • (Throughout the whole game, your character is constantly carrying a plant above his head. Once you throw it, another plant appears in your hands above your head)
    • Automatically catch a spit egg when you get hit/touched by it
      • (This code is useful for the end of level bosses)
    • Automatically catch a thrown vegetable when you get hit/touched by it
      • (This code is very useful fighting the final boss Wart)
    BeyondTheStatic... I saw the impressive codes that you made recently for the SMB games, so I thought if you are interested, it would be nice to see some of these codes made for SMB2. Or any other codes you come across for SMB2 would be nice too.

    Nolberto... I've seen that you have taken a break from NES codes, temporarily I hope. That's why I haven't sent you any requests lately. But if you want to give some of these code requests a try, that would be cool.

    And ofcourse, anyone else that would be interested in fulfilling any of these requests or any new codes for SMB2 would be great.

    I think there are codes in the database that enable all characters to float when they jump (unless you're just wanting codes for each individual character).

    I'll see what kind of random ones I can come up with. I did manage to find a few recently. I've had other things going on to the point where I haven't been able to hack as much I have been.
    Hacking games is always fun because you don't know what's hidden in the game.

      Sure, I'll see what I can come up with. This is one of the more fun games to hack

      Here are some codes that I have already posted, but felt I needed to tidy up. If a moderator can overwrite the existing codes in the DB with these, I'd most appreciative!

        Just wanted to remind my fellow hackers about Data Crystal. It looks like it has quite an extensive RAM mapping of SMB2. Here's the link:

          These codes were found by looking at Data Crystal's RAM map for this game. The "holding an item" flag ($009C) was used to find the correct addresses in a trace log. I simply circumvented the doorway/vine movement restrictions when carrying items. The programmers didn't want you to do these things, and for a good reason: too many sprites/objects on the screen can slow things down, which makes them look like bad programmers. So they opted to restrict how many enemies/items exist in a particular area by disallowing movement through key portals when carry various things. So you can expect some slowdown when using these cheats

            While trying to find a scrolling fix for "Can Climb Vines While Holding Items/Enemies," I found this little gem:

            Code:
            Sky Climber
            ELUENLEY
            [B]NOTE: Press UP or DOWN to climb invisible vines anywhere. You can pass through ceilings and floors. You can't go through doors in the usual fashion, so just climb out of the screen when centered over/under a door to go to where the doors leads. Climb out of the screen where there is no door, and you might end up anywhere. You will not be able to collect cherries. It is best when used with the "Walk Through Walls" cheat.[/B]
            It might be a way to find hidden realms, if any exist for this game. Sometimes when going up or down into unknown areas, you'll be dropped back into a familiar place, yet all the tiles will be changed according to the place you came from. So you might encounter old places with quicksand for walls, and bones for platforms. This game is funny that way :S

                    Nice job on these codes so far.

                    I don't know if it would be possible but a code that you could play the game as the "Sub-world" or whatever they call it when you enter the doors to get potions would be really cool I think.

                    Also in regards to some of these requests I remember an open sourced program call the SMB2 Discombobulator or something of the sorts that had a lot of good material in the source code, think it used Visual Basic.

                          Here are some more codes.

                          I've improved the "Dig Up Mushroom Blocks Anywhere" cheat to allow mblocks to be dropped in front of background elements. In the first attached screen shot I'm returning from a block-collecting errand. The block in hand is the missing piece of a wooden platform that I lifted from another place in the level. The second screen shot shows me going down a pipe whose parts I collected and dropped in front of the pyramid. The third image shows the normal behavior of the original cheat. I've penned Birdo into her own little cage >:-D
