  • GSCentral's cool YouTube videos of cheat codes in action

Check out some cool YouTube videos of cheat codes in action made by GSHI hackers. He gives credit to the hacker underneath the video. Posting YouTube videos of cheat codes in action is a cool idea that can attract more people to the scene.

This has made me curious though...Since 99% of GSCentral's new NES codes (and other systems) come from the forums of GSHI, I wonder if they ask the permission of the hacker before adding all these codes to their database? Does anyone know if they get permission from the GSHI hackers?

If you look at all of GSCentral's new updated codes, you can see that 90% of the codes are retrieved from GSHI on a daily basis: http://gscentral.org/updates.html

I don't really keep track of what or whose codes are being added on GSCentral, but I see that Abystus, who makes codes here, is also an administrator there and DukeOdin posts (or posted) his codes there too. So I guess that at least answers why there are so many "repeated" codes.
As for me, as long as the original author is being credited, I don't really mind.

However, it's pretty sad that you have to go into your hated competitor's site to gather material for your own site. Even if you give proper credit. Although... Rune claims the same thing is done by the admins/people of this site. So this topic will just end up being an endless cycle of "he said she said".

      P.S.
Jesus Christ, I hate those damned little video intros that take 10 to 15 seconds before I see the actual effing video I clicked on in the first place. An intro should not take more than 5 seconds, and even then, that's way too long.

I know that Abystus is a member of both sites and posts codes on both sites. But besides Abystus, do all the other people get asked if they have permission to post their codes?

Rune claims the same thing is done by the admins/people of this site.
Since joining GSHI, I've only seen codes that were posted in the forums of GSHI added to the GSHI database. So I don't think anyone from this site takes codes from the forums of GSCentral. And besides, I don't think that's even possible since there aren't really any new retro codes being made on that site (except Abystus' cool codes)

I've noticed they have used some of my codes. I personally don't have a problem with them using them, posting them on their site, or even putting it on Youtube. Just as long as they aren't taking credit for it.
Hacking games is always fun because you don't know what's hidden in the game.
