I'm trying to beat the game by myself (fortunately, No$GBA has link support), but it's quite nearly impossible to defeat some bosses controlling two Links simultaneously. I've searched for invincibility codes, but every code I find works only with A Link to the Past. Is there any code that affects Four Swords as well?

I actually started to hack this game just for your request but does it have to be the (J) version? I'm trying to get to a location for me to lose health and all those instructions in japanese make it hard to understand exactly what to do. I'm also not sure if DMA is used in this game or not but if it is I will resort to some ASM codes, I did find a rupee code for you to test out for me.

Well, since I'm playing the (J) version, I'm searching preferably for codes applying for this one, but I appreciate your help very much.
By the way, I've tested the code just now, it works perfectly!
About a code for invincibility, I saw some tips about making one for Wii. Apparently, there is a location that activates some sort of counter whenever the player gets damaged, that should probably be the source for this code. As for the instructions in Japanese... if you can show them to me someway (a screenshot would do), I'll be glad to assist you translating them - I study the Japanese language.

There's a version of VBA called VBA Link in which you can play Four Swords without problems. Since VBA has much better options than No$GBA and it lets you configure every single button/key, then I believe that would be a better option for you. It does run slower though, but it shouldn't be a problem if you have anything more powerful than a Pentium 4.

The emulator itself is not a problem, indeed. However, I consider No$GBA better because VBALink doesn't support every GBA game as far as I know (and both have no support for GB/GBC games, unfortunately).
My issue is on playing the game myself controlling more than one Link at once, which is very difficult to handle against bosses.

VBA Link is the same thing as VBA, so it plays every single GBA game. Also, VBA does play GB and GBC color games. It doesn't link them though. Normal No$GB does though.
And controlling more than one link shouldn't be an issue, just set both players to use the same buttons.Last edited by ReyVGM; 10-06-2011, 10:04:09 PM.

Unfortunately, it's not so easy. During the stages themselves it's OK, but the bosses require the players to move independently. Against the Sea of Tree boss, for example, the Links must pull levers around it in opposite directions all at once, and it's nearly impossible to ever approach the levers unscathed.
About No$GMB, I already tried to get it, but sadly it doesn't run GBC games for more than some minutes.Last edited by Ansatsuken; 10-06-2011, 10:22:10 PM.

That's easy, just set the directional keys to be the opposite for each player. So when player 1 goes left, player 2 will go right. Or just set one player to use the controller pad and the other one to use the keyboard directional keys.
You need the cracked No$GB to play GBC games. That can be found easily by googling. But you don't have to use that ancient emu, just use VBA.

The only people that should use No$GBA are people that prefer to use it's debugger feature. If you don't use the debugger, than you would be foolish to use No$GBA over VBA.Now broadcasting from the underground command post. Deep in the bowels of a hidden bunker. Well, at least for me, No$GBA has two advantages over VBALink:
1) compatibility (according to its own homepage, VBALink does not all have link support for all GBA games - Super Mario Advance, for example);
2) speed (I use a laptop, so my hardware is limited - VBALink stutters constantly, even linking just two VBAs).
Of course I'd rather use VBALink (or even VBA-M) if its link function was at least par with No$GBA, but unfortunately, it's not the case.

Slow yours horses there people, I use no$gba because I use the debugger to make better codes that the standard RAM codes. Ansatsuken if you could post a save state of where there are enemies/bosses I can get to making the code much faster.Spoiler Alert! Click to view...
