    I read the following posted below:
    Super Mario Bros. Special - Hudson Soft's ill-fated spin on Super Mario Bros. that was released on an old Japanese computer platform - has been unofficially ported to the NES. Often called the 'true' lost levels, it is an another direct sequel just like Super Mario Bros. 2 for the Disk System, except this one faded in obscurity whereas The Lost Levels florished as only a semi-lost gem of the NES era. Many were quick to hate the Special because of reasons attributed to the technical limitations of the system. But could Super Mario Bros. Special have been as successful had it been released on the NES instead of the PC8801?
    But I thought that the game is a hack. That is what emuparadise has it listed as. They have it listed as:

    Super Mario Bros. (World) [Hack by Frantik+Karatorian v20090219] (~Super Mario Bros. Special) ROM
    Is that the same game you are talking about? Or is it a different game. Because what I read about the game, it was an actual real game for the PC8801 that got ported to the NES. So is that why it's considered a hack and not a real game?

      The game was released officially by Hudson for the PC-88, but the NES one is just a hack.

          You've been asking codes for 6 years now, why don't you learn how to make Infinite Lives or Time? Those are the most simple and basic codes to learn. You can make those two codes in less than 2 minutes.

            @ReyVGM

            I totally agree with your view on the matter.

            @retrogamer

            Anyone that is willing to stick around that long and not at least learn the basics of what they ask should not continue to post these "simple" requests. With a little reading and hands on, anyone that requests can make what they desire (there are bounds of course to where you need to know a lot more, but for these basic hacks it's a drop in the bag).

            I understand that some games may not be as "easy" as others to produce codes for due to different programmers being at the helm of the design, but in the same breath it just takes a little brain power to figure out what the programmer's method is. I realize many people that request these codes don't want to be bothered with how they work, or how to make them (most assume that hackers just wait around with their thumbs jammed up their asses until someone posts a request to be filled, but I assure you it's not the case). If you need assistance to make your "simple" cheat then just ask, and I'm sure someone will assist you as we all want new hackers on board to take our places when we retire, to feel our frustration and exhilaration, and to also promote the community as a whole.

            With that being said you do have some hacks in your list that would require some asm knowledge so they are not as "simple" as the "Infinite this or that" type codes. If you would like to learn how to make these yourself, and not rely on someone to do it for you, then please post in the school of hacking section for further details. I have never really been one to turn someone down that is at least willing to pull their own weight, and you are no exception. You never know, you might learn something...

            Not taking any requests at this time.

                  Because it comes a time in life when you need to learn how to fish yourself.

                  You have been "not really posting" here for 7 years now. That's a lot of "not really" posting years!

                      I don't entirely agree with forcing users to do things themselves just because they've been requesting for a long time. I understand that within a community, its best that people can contribute as much as they leech. But I feel that requesting decent codes is a form of contribution, as long as they are new ideas and can benefit everybody. Some hackers appreciate requests, especially if they receive some kind of positive feedback, and we can't force people to spend time trying to learn something that takes a lot of know-how and skill. Especially with hacking, even what might seem simple to us can be confusing to others.

                      Nobody is forcing anyone to satisfy requests. But requests keep the codes coming.

                        Before I said what I said, I checked his history. He has been requesting simple codes for 6 years now. I know making cheats might seem daunting at first, but if you just take 5 minutes to learn how to find an infinite time code, I guarantee you'll never ask for any other simple code ever in your life. You'll actually feel ashamed you spent 6 years asking for Infinite Energy/Time codes when you could have been making them yourself (and contributing to the community that has helped you so much).

                        I spent my fair share of years begging for codes, until I eventually felt ashamed and learned to make my first Infinite Energy code. After that, I have never asked for other simple codes like that.

                        Besides, he just proved my point when he said "This is why I don't really post here", which to me means that he doesn't really care about any of us, will never bother to learn and will only post when he needs something.

                        As far as I know, no one here has attacked him, but with that phrase, he acts as if people here have been criticizing him for years.

                          Yeah, I get where you're coming from, and I won't ask you to change your mind. It's frustrating when someone who likes codes never wants to show ambition for hacking themselves. Perhaps if he just gave it a shot, he might see how easy it can be and really enjoy it.

                          But at the same time, I don't want to discourage code requesting, even if they're simple ones. I just don't want to see the scene die out. Someone won't mind making the codes, like hybrid has shown. And simple ones can be saved for beginning hackers.

                          With all of that said, the other point you made about his attitude is right. It's disappointing that someone would just "use" our site to leech, with no regard for our community. I share your frustration, if that is indeed his attitude.

                            ok heres how i look at it how many requests actually come through here very few, and they are drying up as more and more people learn to hack their own codes. personally i don't usually submit Ram (par) codes for a reason being they are too easy. i personally enjoy dabbling around with the ROM.
                            i don't mind taking on easy requests. remember with out people wanting codes the scene dies. so yeah there is a place for people who habitually request codes. they keep hackers hacking even though it maybe "easy"
