  • A request for Final Fantasy VI (Anthology) for PSOne

Hi. It's been a long time since I posted here. (I lost track of you for awhile)

I was hoping someone could please answer this question.

I noticed at the Code Breaker site for FFVI, they have In-Battle Magic Modifier codes. http://www.cmgsccc.com/psx/index.php?id=4576

And for the codes they have Magic Digits. http://www.cmgsccc.com/psx/index.php?id=4576&page=34

The digits for the normal magic spells work, but the digits for the Special Attacks, Rage Attacks, Lore Attacks don't work at all.

I was wondering if there was a way to fix it, or work around it? Thanks for your time.

Oh, I have a Code Breaker for PSOne and an old school PlayStation and GameShark 2.5

I'm pretty sure that won't be a problem, if only one of the hackers here can pull out the game and hack it. I imagine one of them must have it.

I've no idea if that should be doable or not. It's possible that the special attacks can only be used by the character they belong to.

I tried using special attacks specific to the character, but they don't work. The attacks are just blacked-out in the menu. I can't access them.

If it's not doable, I understand. Thanks for the reply.

I rememebr I asked and wanted to do this sorta thing a while back, been a long while now, but still if ever becomes 'possible' would be a good thing.

I wanted to have characters do their special little limit break things, yes on FF6 they all, well not 'all' but most have a 'special' attack they can only do when they have their ass beat and are all low on HP and hunched over, and then only random, like one in a thousand random mess, it has to be because ever sense 1994 when the game came out as FF3 on the SNES, I not saw but ONE of these limits yet.

Anyway tried, and it would never 'work' right, had I think Serge look into it, and had a test character try their own limit as their first command (where fight is) It would never work, not sure if it frooze the game or not, Iit has been a good long time, but I do recall it sadly did not work too great, because I deleted the codes and went on with other mess....

So not really a moral booster here, but if it is possible, and someone looks into it again and can maybe gfigure ways 'arund' the not working mess, would be rather nice. It is one of those things I do wodner about, err sorry I am 'strange' I at times wonder...will I ever see anymore of these 'limit breaks' before I die. ehh and mess like that.

            Thanks for the reply, Amy.

I have also played the SNES version many, many times. I've never seen any of the special attacks either. My character would just keep getting killed after I tried so many tries to get him or her to do it.

I would have liked to seen them at least once.

I also thought it'd be cool to have characters do enemy's special attacks, like have Cyan do Ziegfried's 'Hyperdrive'. But alas, I've had no luck with that either.

            Thanks again for the reply.

Okay, checking it out by changing the values in ram while the game is running proves that it is possible to use any tech with any character, with the possible exception of the main character ones. I'm going to see the actual magic modifier codes work, as there may be something I didn't notice. I should be able to figure out what could be wrong without too much effort.

                As I thought, very simple.

In Battle - Enable All Magic Slots codes

                Character 1
                50003604 0000
                30020093 007F
                Character 2
                50003604 0000
                300201CF 007F
                Character 3
                50003604 0000
                3002030B 007F
                Character 4
                50003604 0000
                30020447 007F

There's a couple of things, one being that I didn't test these extensively, so I don't know if they might cause problems outside of battle. In the little bit of running around I did, it seemed to be fine. If there does end up being a problem, adding the line "D0021018 0001" above each of the 50... lines will fix it.

The other, is that with these on, you can select the empty magic slots and try to cast them. All this does is nothing, so it's harmless as far as that goes.

These are gameshark codes, so they'd need to be converted to run on a code breaker. I can do that, but you'd probably be better off using a gameshark for this if you can.

                  Xcellent!!! Thanks LiquidManZero.

They work just fine on my old GameShark. I can even use the special enemy attacks too. (Maybe it's just me, but some of the special enemy attacks look cooler than the ones the playable characters have)

I've been playing with the codes on for a few hours and I haven't encountered any problems yet.

I'll playing some more with code on and let you know if anything happens. Thanks a million!

something that you might want to play with..back awhile ago I hacked a magic mod for FF6..it would replace fire or whatever spell/kill you want with the magic/skill limit you want..for instance I made it so when you cast fire goner(kafka's final skill) would cast instead...you can do this with limits too...the codes posted on the site if you want it

This actually makes me think of a code to make if I had the game. I would make a code to enable those limit break kinda attacks with a button press. I guess it's a suggestion for whoever has the game.
