  • GG Codes for Simon's Quest (U) - NES

    Hi,

A big thanks to nolberto82 for pointing out what should have been obvious

Magic whip - instantly kills all foes or townspeople on the screen
    INIEEA
NOTE: The people will sometimes leave hearts after they die :S

Holy water can break any block
    AOPSSZ
    XVPIPV
NOTE: Entering/exiting the item menu will redraw the map, but the blocks remain destroyed.

The whip can destroy any block
    APISIT
    AALSPT
    XVPIPV
NOTE: You will need to have the nail selected. Entering/exiting the item menu will redraw the map, but the blocks remain destroyed.

There should be a way to get around having the nail equipped. Possibly by modifying the area that checks you having it equipped so that the game thinks you do all the time though you really don't. Great work on these very epic codes! You can run townspeople but you cannot hide...

I haven't investigated the subject thoroughly. My initial attempts locked the subscreen select arrow, but I'm sure the solution can be easily (yeah right) found.

Muaha.. cough... ha. (damn these cigarettes)

I'm guessing only some of the people leave hearts, due to the curse.

I think I may have found what I spoke about up there. Give it a whirl with no items (or at least without the nail equipped) and your whip block code enabled and let me know if it works for you.

Enable Nail Effect Always (Does not have to be selected or even obtained.)

Ah, thank you... it works! And you can even change relics; that's good.

              The updated code is thus:

The whip can destroy any block
              APISIT
              AALSPT
              XVPIPV
              AAZSAT
NOTE: Entering/exiting the item menu will redraw the map, but the blocks remain destroyed.

One of those might not be necessary, but it allows the whip to break more than one block AAT.

Np. I can't stand to have requirements with codes . Now you need to find these types of codes for the rest of the nes series.

I will surely try. Any game supporting destructible blocks (whatever that might entail) should be possible.

I wonder if its possible to have the townspeople out after dark?
Hacking games is always fun because you don't know what's hidden in the game.

With the object modifier, possibly. I found out that you /can/ enter doors after dark, under some circumstances (can't remember how currently), so anything is possible...
