  • Is Super Mario Brothers 2 Japan possible on a SMB1 cart with a GG?

Recently, I purchased the 3-in-1 game pack with SMB1, Duck Hunt, & World Class Track Meet. A few days ago, I was punching in random codes & found one that locks the game up. This however is weird:

    I used this code: XLYNTP

Again this causes the game to freeze up. The game will appear distorted & scrambled. When you start, you can still hear the music & when you move the game freezes. However, when it freezes It totally clears up & the ground looks completely different, the hill in the background looks different, & the clouds in the sky have eyes with a smile. I didn't pay this much attention until I was looking at SMB2J on Youtube & realized that looked very similar to my game freeze the other day.

So anyway, If someone can tweak it & get it to work, let me know. I've tried messing with the 1st, 2nd & 6th digits & haven't had any luck yet.
Hacking games is always fun because you don't know what's hidden in the game.

How would one play World Class Track Meet on an emulator if they don't have that running mat that used to come with the game??? I used to like that game but I don't know if it's possible to play it on an emulator because I think the "running mat/pad" is needed. Anyone know anything about this?

*NOTE* Super Mario Bros 2 for Japan is actually Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels for the United States

Now broadcasting from the underground command post. Deep in the bowels of a hidden bunker. Somewhere under the brick & steel of a nondescript building. We've once again made contact w/ our leader, OSG

Some of the better emulators (FCEUX) let you use many of the peripherals that came with NES and FC. The Power Pad games can be played with the keyboard, you just have to assign each of the Power Pad spaces to a letter key. It can be found in the drop down menus of the emulator. I believe it would be under CONFIGURATION then INPUT.

Yeah, I know. I already have Super Mario All-Stars for SNES. I was wondering if it is possible to play SMB2(J) on the SMB cart using a game genie. Based on the results of that code I found that locks the game up, its got me wondering about it.
