  • GG Codes for Double Drgaon 2 - NES

Game over after you complete Mission 1
    EOYTSI

Unarmed forward attack will cause enemies to transform into the Mission 1 enemy boss
    XXTANK
NOTE: This is probably one of the coolest random hacks I've done. When you or your enemy attempts to do an unarmed forward attack, you or them will go through a brief weird animation & you'll hear a the sound of the Mission 1 boss coming back to life. Then the enemies will look like that boss. They won't have his attacks though. This seems to work on every character.

Unarmed forward attack becomes a ground level cyclone spin kick
    OUTANK
NOTE: I always hated when enemies on the game would duck your jumping attacks. This will cause you to do a spin kick as if you're jumping, but you're on the ground. Enemies can't duck it either. This especially makes it easier in Mission 4 when you've got the spikes over head. You'll do the spin kick without hitting the spikes.

Unarmed forward attack becomes a jumping knee butt
    XUTANK
NOTE: Same as the above code, except with the knee butt. This may cause you to jump to a lower or higher position on the screen if you're on a 3D part of a level. I've never jump off a ledge using it though.

Unarmed forward attack becomes super uppercut
    UUTANK

    Very different music
    XXTAYK
NOTE: This doesn't seem to affect the boss music. The title screen music, Mission 1, Mission 2, & Mission 3's music all sound very strange. Mission 2's music sounds like a whistle or flute is being played.
Hacking games is always fun because you don't know what's hidden in the game.

If using any of the "unarmed forward attack becomes..." and you knock the first Stage 2 enemies off their ledge & one of them sails down on the extreme right every few seconds, just turn the code off until you can advance. This is the only glitch I've found so far, and it's so easy to fix.
I come from a smart family...In the Civil War, my great-grandpa fought for the WEST.

      No music
      XTPAPL

      Pitty-Pat punches
      SSLUTX
NOTE: Makes punches sound different, as if they are barely making contact.

2nd Enemy almost always faces to the right
      EPTXLZ
NOTE: Usually the second enemy of every set will walk toward you, but will walk backwards. On occasion, they'll walk backwards off screen, but if you wait they will walk toward back toward you.

Game is played in black & white (Gameboyish)
      ELLYZE

Game has a purple shade to it
      ULLYZE

Skip most of the intro to Mission 1
      ZOZNNX
NOTE: The first thing you'll see when you start the the game is the last screen with the mission number & name "Mission 1 - Into the Turf".

      Mission 1 boss runs away
      EEZLNO
NOTE: This almost reminds me of River City Ransom. The 1st stage boss will shrink & take off running to the other side. If you follow him, he'll be at the edge running in place. This also works when you fight him on Mission 7.

The go ahead finger always points upward / Can't throw some weapons
        POPOTE
NOTE: This mostly applies to knives, grenades, dynamite, & the boomerang type weapons that the enemies throw on Mission 4. When an enemy attemps to throw a weapon they disappear & die. When you throw a weapon, you disappear & reappear as if you died, but you don't lose any lives.

The go ahead finger never points
        ISZOPA

          Fake start with 1/2 energy
          VVLZOP
NOTE: You will appear to start with 4 units of energy instead of 8, once those 4 units are drained, it will appear that you energy has filled back up, but after taking more damage, you will die.

View ending after the Mission 3 intro
          LXPPSS

          Infinite knees to the face
          VSGPPL
NOTE: This allows you to constantly deliver knees to the face after you grab an enemy. In order to let go use the elbow to the back of the head, the kick to the face, or the over shoulder throw.

Elbow to the back of the head drains your energy
          EIPOTS
NOTE: When you grab an enemy & use the elbow to the back of the head, it will drain 4 units of energy for every hit. You'll be able to move around with no energy, but if you get knocked down, you will die.

            Stages change to different colors
            XXTKLP

            Punches knock down with 1-hit
            AITXUY
NOTE: This affects both you & your enemies.

I believe you made a slight mistake because these two codes are the same code... they are both "VVLZOP" but you have a different code effect described for both of them. If they are identicle codes, then they can't have different code effects.

You're right. Thanks for pointing that out. I've went ahead & deleted the duplicate code. I'm not sure how I did that, but I'll check my codebook & make the necessary corrections.

Here was the code that I meant to have listed:

                  Fake start with 1/4 energy
                  VVLZOO
NOTE: You will appear to start with 2 units of energy instead of 8, once those 2 units are drained, it will appear that you energy has filled back up, but after taking more damage, you will die.

I've managed to find some more codes:

                    Enemies never appear
                    ZYZPPA
NOTE: No need to fight anymore. Everytime you come to an area where enemies normally come out, you'll get the go ahead to move on. The helicopter on Mission 2 & the giant bulldozer thing on Mission 5 will still appear. The stages will end instantly when you get to where an enemy boss normally comes out.

Slower Music / Strange Sound Effects
                    SZYLNX

                    Discolored Stages
                    IAGGPU
NOTE: This mostly affects parts of the stages that scroll. Mission 1 is mostly red.

Hey, that's a great find, especially using your style of hacking. Awesome code, man.

Thanks. I was shocked when I came across it, considering that most of the time things come up glitchy.

Mission 1 boss appears much earlier
                            AGGAKN
NOTE: After you beat the first set of enemies, two Mission 1 bosses will come out & apppear glitched. After you beat one of them, they appear like normal. There's no end to them either.

Some sound effects sound like they came from an Atari 2600
                              KEPATY

Every other enemy almost always has a weapon
                              LVZAGV
NOTE: Most of the time, the 2nd enemy in a set will have a weapon. These weapons are sometimes grenades or knives. Sometimes they alternate. This will sometimes cause Williams to act strange. The affected Rowper sometimes won't come right out, but will eventually.

Player 1 is always facing to the right
                              LVZAGT
NOTE: Player 1 will always face right even when you walk left. He will walk backwards.

                              Jump higher
                              SGYAGK
NOTE: This doesn't work in all parts of the game. In some areas, it seems as if the code isn't active. It also makes landing a jumpkick or spinkick very difficult.
