I found a way to turn on fatalities at any point but still working on a code to automatically do it for me. The checked location is:

        7E327E??
01 - Player 1 Winning animation Player 2 Falls Down
02 - Player 2 Winning animation Player 1 Falls Down
03 - Fatality Enabled (Enabling this will allow you to perform any Finisher during the round.)

Changing the value in the hex editor will trigger the above events however the match will not end in the event a Finisher is preformed (similar to the beta rom) until the time expires. Ive also found the routine which writes the Fatality Enabled value, however it's guarded by several Branch/Compares along the way. If anyone wants to give it a shot (v1.0 tested) while I'm at work tomorrow go right ahead .

Thanks. I'm starting to wonder where everyone else went. It's really not that hard to think of things to hack for this game, hell I event made a list of ideas on the first page. I guess as long as I'm having fun it's all that matters . Maybe I'll be able to knock down the list a bit more throughout the weekend if all goes well.

I know I'm only going to hack what interests me, and I did, and that's all I really expect from anyone else.

I agree, however I believe this is coupled with not being a fan of the genre of game, or even the franchise all together. As you may or may not know I didn't hack a single code for the past 3 games based on I was not interested in the genre of the game, however I feel bad for not hacking anything as I could have contributed more to the community by attempting more complex hacks that would have possibly peaked my interest further in the game itself. I am not blaming anyone for not hacking the game, however I am just wondering what led the "hack-a-thon" on this particular one to die out so quickly (outside that many of the basic codes had been hacked, and that it's a fighting game).

I know fighting games in particular are labeled as limited overall to produce interesting hacks for, but in the end it relies on the hackers ability to think outside the box (of course when enough interest is available to do so). I guess I'm just one of those people who loves fighting games (well some of them) and will hack them until there is nothing left .

Maybe because the hackers dont know what to hack for this game?

This could be true as I grew up with this game so I know just about everything about it. I am not sure if it is lack of interest, lack of game knowledge or that people feel everything worth hacking is already hacked. Like I said before I don't blame anyone for not hacking it as I have not hacked anything for the previous games. I know its not required by anyone to hack the game, I just figured this game would have been more popular with the crowd since it's an easy in and out type of game that doesn't require all that much play time to generate codes for. I guess it could have been worse though, as we could have been hacking Action 52...

In my opinion is due to the messy code that the game has. I checked the fatality routine found by rimsky82 and saw that the normal attacks precede the actual fatality so to make it a one button fatality you have to disable the normal attack. With Liu Kang if you try to do the Dragon Fatality he'll do the flying kick instead.

Very true, this game had spaghetti code even in the arcade version. The programmers should be shot for leaving such sloppy code, it's a wonder the game even runs. By the way if you do happen to look at this game again before it expires could you possibly make a Player 2 version of your hit anywhere code as it would make me feel better deep down inside to have both players covered .

                                Code:
                                Hit Anywhere Both Players
