I discovered an interesting/different Infinite HP code for the Hero(Bowie as default name) that you do receive a little damage from the enemy in the first round, BUT if the enemy get's a second chance to attack, you won't take any damage resulting in invincibility. After the one or two battle rounds are over, his HP will be fully refilled automatically. I haven't found the codes yet for the other characters. Here is the code:
Infinite HP Hero: FFE80F: 000C
Note: You don't HAVE to wait until you are promoted. You can use this code at the very beginning of the game until it is beat.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2:
Invincibility/Invisibility: FFB031: 0040
The code I discovered while playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2, is that it is a combination of Invincibility and invisibility. What it does is, it makes Sonic invisible but also invincible at the same time to spikes and enemy attacks. I think you die normally if you fall off the screen into a death pit still. You can collect rings and destroy life/shield boxes just fine. I just recommend saving ALOT if you are using this code in case you are trying to jump to get somewhere. The downside of the code is that it only makes you invisible/invincible outside the Special Stages. Look below for a Note: message.
Note: Also, if you decide to use the Debug code, I discovered that you can fight Robotnik twice on the Death Egg. If you pretend to start to leave by running towards the exit of the Death Egg, quickly use the Debug code and go back to the beginning of the room you fought Robotnik in. You get one final chance to fight him again. I'm not sure if this is a glitch or not, but it definitely was an interesting discovery.
