Rock 'N' Roll Racing (Genesis) Code Found

I noticed the code that Whipon posted to enable Olaf & modified it. Originally, I was looking to see if playing with the digits would enable you to select one of the enemy drivers. I couldn't find that. I even played with the code as much as I could stand it. Here's what I found:

Enables an unknown character to be selected

When you press left on the character selection screen, instead of saying Snake Sanders, the character name will say !()*E Sanders. Select that character & your vehicle & you'll notice that he has an awesome Acceleration & Top Speed. However, if you get the Havoc vehicle, you can barely move (unless you use the speed boost). When you are racing & the announcer is talking about you, there is a long pause before whatever he says. When you see the race results, your name is listed as "Player 1 Indy Super Cup".

Note: DO NOT scroll any further when trying to select this character, the game will freeze if you do.

I was hoping to find a way to play as the rival racers: Rip, Shred, Slash, Grinder, Butcher, etc. If anyone knows a way or can find it for me please let me know.

I read somewhere about there being another hidden character for this game. Maybe you found that character. I'll have some more info on this game later when I find it again.

What I'm dying to know is if there are any codes that allow you to play as the rivals or to race against the selectable characters by replacing the CPU opponents.

"The heroes of Rock N' Roll Racing are the player-selectable characters, who each originate from a different planet.

* Jake Badlands (Xeno Prime)
* Katarina Lyons (Panteros V)
* Ivanzypher (Fleagull)
* Cyberhawk (Serpentis)
* Olaf from The Lost Vikings (Valhalla)

There are six characters that are readily selectable, each of which has a +1 enhancement for two of the four skills that are related to how well their vehicle handles: acceleration, top speed, cornering, and jumping. Olaf, from The Lost Vikings, another Silicon & Synapse game that was in development at the same time, is a hidden character, requiring a code to access him, and instead of two skills, Olaf has three. At the character selection screen (with Talquin showing on the screen), while holding down L, R, and Select, press left then right on the d-pad, and Olaf will appear. There is an eighth character, also hidden, who has no picture or name but has the +1 bonus for all four of the available skills. This character is sometimes called the "Phantom", and he/she/it is only accessible using specially-crafted passwords.

What's interesting is I used that Game Genie code to enable "Phantom" & I took note of the password. Later I came back to the game (without using the Game Genie) & used the in game password that it provided & it froze after typing it in.

I'm still trying to recall where I saw the hard-to-find info for the Genesis version. That won't work on this game. It's pretty tricky. I'll have to see if I saved it. Don't think I included the site I found it on.

To Olaf could always choose to do the following changes in rum: at 006FF8 enter 0007, at 07,038 to enter 7006.

Activate Olaf: the character selection screen, press UP, RIGHT, UP, RIGHT, DOWN, LEFT, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT.
Add $ 250,000: in the main game menu, press UP, RIGHT, DOWN, LEFT, UP, LEFT, DOWN, RIGHT, UP. This code can be entered many times as desired.
Infinite ammunition and acceleration: the on-screen equipment purchase, press DOWN, DOWN, DOWN, UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, DOWN.
?: On the screen increase press LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, B, C, A + B + Start.

Interesting find. Apparently they are hacking the game's built-in passwords. The only problem with the password that's provided when you use the "Unknown" character, is that when you punch in the password, the game will freeze.

I'll continue to experiment with more values so I can see if anything else comes up. The last two values that I used on the PAR made it to where part of the track is missing. It even shows it missing a section on the map overlay. When you get to that point, the game freezes up.
