  • Codes for Street Fighter 2: Special Champion Edition (Genesis)

I took some of the "official" Galoob codes posted & played with the digits to come up with these codes:

    ADBA-F322
Dhalsim's Yoga Fire is lower (about like Sagat's low Tiger Shot)

    ADBA-F432
    Ryu can't jump forward

    ADBA-F442
    E. Honda can't jump forward

    ADBA-F452
    Blanka can't jump forward

    ADBA-F462
    Guile can't jump forward

    ADBA-F472
    Ken can't jump forward

    ADBA-F482
    Chun-Li can't jump forward

    ADBA-F492
    Zangief can't jump forward

    ADBT-F422
    Dhalsim can't jump forward

    ADBT-F432
    M. Bison can't jump forward

    ADBT-F442
    Sagat can't jump forward

    ADBT-F452
    Balrog can't jump forward

    ADBT-F462
    Vega can't jump forward

Note: That when you try to jump forward, you'll jump a long ways backwards.

I managed to find some more:

    ADBT-FVH2
Players don't reel back from hits
NOTE: This only applies to direct hits or blocked hits from punches, kicks, & special moves that normally don't knock you down.

    ADBA-FVK2
Ryu teleports to the other side when jumping forward

    ADBA-FVL2
    E. Honda teleports to the other side when jumping forward

    ADBA-FVM2
Blanka teleports to the other side when jumping forward

    ADBA-FVN2
Guile teleports to the other side when jumping forward

    ADBA-FVP2
Ken teleports to the other side when jumping forward

    ADBA-FVR2
Chun-Li teleports to the other side when jumping forward

    ADBA-FVS2
Zangief teleports to the other side when jumping forward

    ADBT-FVJ2
Dhalsim teleports to the other side when jumping forward

    ADBT-FVK2
    M. Bison teleports to the other side when jumping forward

    ADBT-FVL2
Sagat teleports to the other side when jumping forward

    ADBT-FVM2
Balrog teleports to the other side when jumping forward

    ADBT-FVN2
Vega teleports to the other side when jumping forward

      Here's a few more:

      1RBA-FWCJ
Character selection only shows Ryu's picture
NOTE: Even though Ryu's picture is displayed, you'll still be able to select who you want to play as. Whenever a character is beaten you'll see their picture in black & white in their normal slot.

      1CBA-FCCN
Character selection shows mostly Ryu's picture with Bison's, Vega's, Balrog's, & Blanka's picture out of place.
NOTE: Even though other pictures are displayed, you'll still be able to select who you want to play as. Whenever a character is beaten you'll see their picture in black & white in their normal slot. This also is different from Champion & Turbo Editions. I've noticed differences also between the main game & the Vs mode.

      1CBA-FCCW
Character selection screen is missing (can still select characters)

After looking through the "official" codes section, I noticed that there was no code posted for the 3rd bonus stage to start with 99 seconds.

Start with 99 seconds on the 3rd Bonus Stage
          FDTA-BXH0
NOTE: When time runs out, the score will not add up, & you won't be able to advance any further, but you'll be able to move around non-stop.

It turns out that's why the code was never made, but its cool anyways because you could use it for practice.

I also had some ideas for other codes:
          1. Projectiles stay in one place
          2. Projectiles move backwards
          3. Quickly recover from performing projectile attacks
          4. Slowly recover from performing projectile attacks
          5. No need to hold back or hold down for charge attacks (Guile's Flip Kick, Chun-Li's Whirlwind Kick, Balrog's Dash Punch, Bison's Torpedo, etc.)
          6. Start on Bonus Stage 1
          7. Start on Bonus Stage 2
          8. Start on Bonus Stage 3

How do you have time to hack when the only computer you have available to you is at your work?

@Sephiroth6666: I keep a notebook & a composition book around. I punch in random codes. After I get an interesting effect even if it causes the game to freeze, I write them down in the notebook. I start the game again with those codes deleting one at a time. If the effect occurs again, I restart & delete the next line until the effect isn't there anymore. After that happens, I know the last code I deleted is the one that causes the effect. Once I have tweaked it, then I jot it down in my composition book. Each page is dedicated to certain games. I take the book with me to work & post it on this site for everyone to see. My boss would kill me if I brought everything to work with me. I hack at home & post at work. Sometimes, I'll make special trips to the office to post codes too. It just depends on how ready I am to get out of the house.

                @Helder: Thanks.

Heh. I got a flashback of using a notebook to keep progress of my hacks. This was when I started to mess with my PS1 in 2000 and code hacking in general. Thanks, for that! The trial and error method helps to find those wacky/rare codes that you normally don't see. They even help lead to better ones when you learn ASM.

You and Damin hack the same way, if I remember his method correctly.

                  Keep it up!
