  • Code Errors

I come across codes sometimes that do not work. For example:

    SNES - Pit-Fighter - 7E1124A0 - Infinite health - doesn't work at all
SNES - Aliens vs. Predator - 1DB3-6727 + C236-0DDD - Infinite health - Appears to work because the health bar does not decrease but you still die after a number of hits.

I only tested these on BSNES, haven't had a chance to check the other two emulators (which I never use). But can someone please test these codes and maybe working codes can be made.

Maybe this thread can be marked as sticky for all problem codes in the future.

    Pit-Fighter
semi-works on snes9x, if cpu stop attacking you, your health goes back up

    Aliens vs. Predator

OK thanks for checking (I'm at work at the moment, couldn't check with the other emulators). Can someone make new working codes for those?

I also found lots of buggy or non-working NES GameGenie codes in GSHI's database (verified with FCEUX 2.1.1).

I start with the NES Game Mega Man:

          Mega Man (NES)

ALTOKG - When You Hold The Jump Button Down, You Float (by Charles DuMarr the "Evil_Spock")
With this code on, when Mega Man launch of any stage the game crash.

ZAKGNIPA Laddermania On Cutman Stage (by Unknown User)
You can't see where this code put ladders and you can fall through ground and die.

Please anyone delete these two buggy codes from database!

The following codes must be fixed:

YSKZLYAE Bomb From Bombman's Weapon Explodes Sooner (by Gedowski)
I see that in the Elecman's Stage the code cause the game resets to the Title Screen.

ZNNAPEZO Megaman Can Slide Alot Longer (by Gedowski)
EOUAPPEL Kill Enemies And Bosses In 1-2 Shots (by Gedowski)
          SZKZGZVG Infinite Energy (by Whipon)

In the GameGenie Encoder / Decoder Tool, these three codes don't affect any addresses in the game.

LISPLAZA Start with 99 Lives (by Whipon)
When you choose a boss on Stage Select Screen, after the chosen Boss's State Screen the game return back to the Title Screen.

AUPYGT The Rising Bomb Things (In Bombman Stage) Don't Explode (by Charles DuMarr the "Evil_Spock")
Take almost the same problem as above code "Start With 99 Lives".

          Mega Man 2 (NES)

About this game, most of GameGenie sixletter GameGenie codes created by @darkforsaken are very buggy and they are for deleting from the database.

          These codes need be repaired:

NNNELXGO 255 Maximum Life [Shows Only 28] (by zazer)
SXESKLVG Infinite Clash Man (by Whipon)

          SZNIVGVG Infinite 1 (by Whipon)
The two @Whipon codes are for infinite Crash Bombs and Item-1, but they has no effect in the game. All of these three codes above also don't affect any addresses in the game.

GGUKOVLK Invincible (After Getting Hit Once) (by Gedowski)
This code works, but after getting hit take the game on moments too slow down.

            Mega Man 3 (NES)

XZXXZZ Push Start To Fill Up Your Energy (by Brunsr)
This code work but if you use Rush Coil, after that you can't switch back to Mega Buster. It also make the icons in the submenu appears glitched.

OZXXZX Going Into The Menu Refills R Coil's Energy (by gedowski)
Similar problem to the above code noted.

            Mega Man 6 (NES)

OXEEOZSX Always Invincible Against Spikes (by Ugetab)
The code works with the spikes that are lined horizontally on the floor or the ceiling, but touching the spikes that are lined side on the walls still kill Mega Buster.

SZUPYSSK Infinite Energy Tanks (by Whipon)
This code don't work and not affect any addresses in the game.

Well, most of my non working codes were just mistakes while typing the compare value.

              Megaman,

              Infinite Energy,
              SZKZGZSA

              Start With 99 Lives,
              LTSPLAZA

I changed this one, because the old one made you start with 83 lives. However I tested the code with all the bosses and can't reproduce your bug. What version of the rom do you have?.

              Megaman 2,

              Infinite Clash Man,
              SXESKLSA

              Infinite 1,
              SZNIVGSA

              Megaman 6,

              Infinite Energy Tanks,
              SZUPYSVK

Well, that covers all my involved codes ^^.

ZNNAPEZO Megaman Can Slide Alot Longer (by Gedowski)
EOUAPPEL Kill Enemies And Bosses In 1-2 Shots (by Gedowski)

                These can be found here:
                http://www.gshi.org/vb/threads/1080-...light=gedowski

These were accidentally added to MM1 instead of MM5

Since it's going to be awhile before I get my computer repaired, the other codes can be removed.

I tested the code with Megaman (U) !, and with Megaman (U) b1 with no issues at all.
Take in mind you're using a overdump version. That's what the o2 means, overdumped version 2 .Usually these versions are bad dumped.
So if the code works perfectly with the original rom ((U) !), nothing must be fixed or deleted.

TXXZZO Enemies, Eggs, And Rocks Are Placed Randomly In The Level (by Gedowski)
After few minutes playing with this code turned on, the game crash.

If you touch any boss on any level with this code, you cannot defeat him after that because touching with this GameGenie code turned on make the boss invincible.

                      VTELPZVK Infinite Jump (by megaman_exe)
This code is working, but it also cause the appearing a black parts as graphic errors in the background.

AANLTPZE Infinite Jump, But You Bounce In The Air Undefinetely (by megaman_exe)
Sometimes you stay on one height and don't falling down. Also the game stop working with black screen when you enter in the room with the Hudson's bee for free continue in World 1 with this code turned on.

                      Hudson's Adventure Island 3 (NES)

EYSXZAEI Fly (keep jump button pressed) (by megaman_exe)

SXKGYZSA + SZNXXTVG Infinite Health (by electric_jimi)
The second code SZNXXTVG must be deleted because it don't affect any addresses in the game and really the all work do by the first code SXKGYZSA.

I be tested these codes on the following ROMs: Hudson's Adventure Island II (U) [!]; Hudson's Adventure Island III (U) [!]; Takahashi Meijin no Bouken Shima IV (J).

With this code you cannot go on any Cloud Bonus because if you are Big or Fire Mario and try to climb on a vine you constantly break invisible bricks and you cannot climb on the vine with this code on.
The above code also works perfectly fine. I completed the game several times with it enabled, accessing bonuses and warp zones without any problem. You're right about the bricks, but that happens sometimes, and if you keep triying to climb the vine, you will easily manage to do it.

Didn't tested other people codes, but I suspect you have aren't testing them in the main rom.
If you only look at Castlevania II there's 52 diferent versions of the rom (b1, b2, o1, etc). But you should only use the most common one ( (U) ! ). If the code is for a different version of the rom, then its indicated. If not its for the main rom.

I appreciatte you're triying to help, but take this in mind next time before claiming a code doesn't work.

                              1. All codes in all my posts published after your note about the ROM versions in post #10 are tested only with original ROMs [!], but I forgot note for this in my posts #11 and #12.

                              2. Thank you for that you repair your own codes and they already works properly.

Also, your code for Super Mario Mario Bros. (NES) are working really good and I'm removed it from the my last post. But the your codes for Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (NES) still don't work correctly on my NES emulator FCEUX 2.1.1, even on Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (U) [!]. On what emulator you verify and see your codes to working fine?
