You are re-inventing the wheel if you are doing all the cheats from scratch as there are lots of neogeo cheats in the MAME cheat files (dat+xml format). RAM cheats work fine on the MVS as well as the Arcade versions.

For example here are the codes for eightman (in dat format)

Man, I searched and searched for cheats for the neo geo, just never added the word MAME to my searches.
I was looking for .ini cheat files (for FBA), and finally found some, but they seemed to have codes for all the games except for the neo geo.

I was only getting into the emulator Final Burn Alpha because of a recent port for the PS3.

So thanks, now I'll at least know what was already created.
I'm still gonna play the games, weather it's my cheats or not ^.^

The non-dat format code types is the ones I've made.
This emulator supports cheat scanning while the emulator is paused, so converting Cheat Engine codes will only take 2 scans with the emu.

Don't forget that FBA can parse the MAME cheat.dat file (grab the one for MAME 0.126) rather than the .inis. Hopefully it works for the PS3 version too.

Thanks again, I didn't know that.

As far as the PS3 port, it's actually an alpha release, neo geo works, but some other systems don't yet.
I'm very doubtful it has cheat support as of now, you can't even change the button layout yet...
