  • Question about the Gameshark Lite

Ok, I know the GS Lite is esentially a sort of watered down version of the original CD style Gameshark(CDX I think it was called), but I am sometimes confused as to what version of Gameshark the GS Lite is equal to. Some codes from GS v.3.0 and below will work fine, as will some codes above v.3.0, and yet some do not.

What is the rough version equalivant of the GS Lite? Even if someone could point me in the direction of a website with this info I'd be quite appreicative.

Thank you in advance for any and all help.

    Interact Gameshark v2.2 or higher**
    Interact Gameshark Pro series**
Caetla v.341** (Uses different slide-fill code codetype)
    Interact Gameshark Lite*
Interact Gameshark v4.11 / Datel Action Replay v4.2*
Pelican Codebreaker v3 / Madcatz GameShark v5* (Uses Caetla slide-fill code)

    slide-fill code = repeater code

    * = due being on a cd and ps1 only had 2MBytes RAM in total and 255KBytes RAM free and run on ps1 memory the slide-fill code had to be very short limited to maximum hex 0F.
prior to cd versions the cartridge based ones had its only memory on-board with no slide-fill code limitation.

    ** = cartridge based only work with ps1 scph-100x to 790x models.

        No problem.

I'll also try to look into your Armored Core request, being that I just happened to have that game loaded up yesterday...

GameShark Lite aka cdx v3.4 = Equalizer Xtreme
v3.3 uses a memory card dongle.

C0 and C1 codes have no effect on v1.00/2.00

no shit that why on CMX's (codetwink) forum says GSv2.42 or higher to use those "C" codetypes
lee4 Does Not Accept Codes Requests !

Hey there's no reason to be offensive even if I was wrong I now know there's a Equalizer CDX as well the Extreme.
About the c0, c1 I was just quoting what it said in the cdx 3.3 manual, I don't why but sometimes you come over all agressive towards me, I know I can be annoying at times if I happen to spread misinformation but cut me some slack please, I don't want to be arguing with you.

Well documented version history 1.94-2.5 you may find that useful or not.

I found a rom dump of 3.3 on thier hopefully I can now reflash my cdx 3.3 because atm it's currupted without the background images showing up. Just need to find out what tools I need for the process.
