Sonic 3 Game Genie Request. (Start with less time, as one pirate arcade machine)

hi to all.

this are my request:

can someone make sonic 3 game genie codes, for starts with less time in all stages?. i search this even in internet, but dont exist game genie codes for make this. (only exist one game genie inf time code, and par codes).


the raison - the very rare sonic 3 arcade pirate machine:

i always dreams to do that since years ago, when i found one sonic 3 arcade pirate game machine, (never emulated in mame). with only 2 minutes of time for every life!.


let me explain you how are that game:

these game have credits display in the down-left, by using the icons of the "C" letter from the "copyright by sega" message.

i think the copyright info for title screen was erased (or only are erased the the sega logo at beginning?), but is sure the game use these "C" icons for show the credits you have.
(if you have for example 3 credits, you can see 3 "C" follow at the down-left corner).
the maximun credits are 9 credits. so it display credits as this way: "C C C C C C C C C C"


also you cant save (only select no save mode), but you can select sonic & tails, sonic alone, or tails alone chars.

and the most important thing:
YOU ONLY HAVE 2 MINUTES LEFT FOR EVERY LIFE!, and if i remenber fine just one life left at the beginning in some arcade machines!.


with that, you must reach these part of the stage 1 with 3 extra lives around. got the 3 lives, then let the time over happens.
and repeat that process for can have some more lives before start to playing serious...


of course you can obtain lives when you play bonus games, obtain 50000 points and these things as always.

believe me, this game are really challenged to be played for fans, because with only 2 minutes you have to be very fast, by reach every lampost in game. for can continue from there when time over comes.

and the final level is very challenge, since when you steal the robotnick ship (with these intro of knuckles in the platform), you miss several seconds. so you only left less that one minute for kill him!.

with that you must kill robotnick very fast, by even using the flurry attack when robotnick comes down with the spikes. and this required do the attack just in the moment for avoid eat spikes

after kill him, always left you only 3 seconds as much.
(of course, this make impossible finish the game with tails in 2 minutes for every life. with tails you need 3 minutes as minimum).

but after all, finish this game with -sonic & tails/sonic alone- is hard, but not impossible. i finish that game 5 times as minimun...


i see this very rare arcade game only a few times/places in all my life, and with only 2 minutes or only 1 minute for every life (with 1 minute is totally impossible).

(this prove that the game have options for set time and maybe also the number of starting lives).


so, my request is ask if some genius here can make a few game genie time codes, that makes you start from 8 minutes (and also 7 minutes) of time and not 10 minutes as normal.


and even if you like this "sonic 3 professional player" hack, and you know how patching codes, you can make one hack with that time codes if you want.

but is enough for me only with the game genie time codes.

even i have pro action replay codes, but since they make things be infinite, not works.


someone knows how make this thing?.

by the way, i try find the code in the net several times, but i only find one game genie inf time code.

i really apreciated the help, since unfortunate im good with par, but i dont have idea of how people find codes with game genie. and some are incredible by the way!

apart, someone can say me where i can found one good tutorial for learn how find game genie codes by myself?

but after all i still miss do the same with sonic & knuckles alone, and sonic 3 & knuckles.

because like i imagine the game genie code only works in sonic 3. (and btw this is very rare for me, since the same par time code works in the 3 games... why not happens the same in the game genie case? )

can you explain me a little, how you find the code? well is this not are too much work for you.

i try to find a game genie tutorial for know how find my own codes, but i cant found nothing with google.

so after that i try to find one modification of your code, for try have 3 minutes for the poor tails (that cant make the game in 2 minutes like i say before)

pd: ugetab, there are one genesis or master system game that you want one cheat? i cant do miracles, but sure i can give it a try for you

im good in search select character codes, but i think fortunate almost all the games (if not all) are already covered here...

All I did was use the addresses you posted(as a convenience) and plugged them into Regen. I tried to find the init-to-0 address for the time, but that didn't work as easily as I felt like attempting. Then just sort of played around, trying to find the max. time. I can't really say how I found it, because I just tried everything I could think of to find it.

Now that I know what to search for, and am unlazy enough to press a few keyboard buttons, here's some other stuff:

In addition to the above code, use this just to be sure(It may be for some special stage or something, though. I don't know.)

look. i use the GG inf time codes i see in the database for some sonic games, and make comparisons with the others you found, or inf lives GG codes from diferent sonic games...

and after try a big bunch of codes :P, and also with some luck, i can find the 2 minutes code for two more sonic games!:

hey, now we have almost all the 2 minutes codes for all sonic games! .

but unfortunate i cant find the codes for the rest (sonic 1 and sonic 2 beta) because not exist game genie inf time codes for they, that i can modify for try obtain these 2 min code


anyway did you know for what another raison i have interest in these 2 min time codes (apart of the time challenge)?

because that 2 minutes codes, are the only left thing i ALWAYS want to do, and i cant with par codes. since i already find all the par codes i want for pro action replay

these are my little surprise for you all... i have a big back-up of par codes i make for all the sonic games .
included sonic spinball or sonic 3d flickies island. (but perhaps you already have some of them. in par or game genie form).

i try to cover with the par codes all the most important sonic cheats, for all the sonics games.
starting from normal cheats (like inf lives and others) and ended with the important cheats. like enable level select, enable debug mode, can select what character you want control, and others. a hard work you can believe me :P.


just one example: can play as tails in sonic & knuckles alone. unfortunate him dont have palette, so is invisible .
i think this is cause the palette have been erased, or maybe only moved to other place for make the conection of s&k with the sonic 3 game.

this thing can be really interesting for one person who want make one hack of s&k alone with tails, maybe by search the palette and re-enabled it for make tails works ok, or even by copy the s3&k tails palette into s&k alone.

even i see that exist one s3&k save state in sonic 2 beta website, that are for be used in s&k. and then you can play as tails there.


pd: by the way, thinking in that, i try to enter first in sonic retro website sometime ago... (because i think these select body codes and maybe others, can be interesting for they, that makes totally incredible/cool rom hacks).

but unfortunate they simply ignoring me, and never answer to my 2 messages in the post i make, for try to be acepted as forum menber. the exactly way as i see they do with several other people there
looks like they are too much elistist for me... :P. a pity

anyway, must be a pleasure send to gshi all these codes i make.

just, please give me a few time for compare what of these codes are new or not for gshi, for avoid repeat the par codes you already have.
