  • Final Fantasy VI Advance - Neat Code

I wasn't able to find a thread for Final Fantasy VI Advance, so I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong spot.

Anyway, there are codes available that modify your character's position in the 4-person party line-up, but if you modify these codes and then go to the airship, that character is not available for selection. In other words, there are no codes available to change who is a permanent party member. That all changes now!

    Permanent Party Modifier: 82001ede ????

    Byte 1:
    01 Terra
    02 Locke
    04 Cyan
    08 Shadow
    10 Edgar
    20 Sabin
    40 Celes
    80 Strago

    Byte 2:
    01 Relm
    02 Setzer
    04 Mog
    08 Gau
    10 Gogo
    20 Umaro

These work by adding up the values for the characters you want. If you want Celes, Edgar, and Terra in your party, you would add 40 + 10 + 1 to get 51. Make sure you're adding hexadecimals.

The characters will be different people depending on what stage of the game you're in and if you've named them yet. If you pick certain characters too early, you will have to modify their jobs/names manually, as they will appear as moogles. So what's the point of this code?

*SPOILER* If you don't follow certain story actions, you can permanently lose one of the characters later in the game. Namely, Shadow. And while Shadow's not that great, it's annoying to have to start a new game to finish with him should you choose. This allows you to have him and anyone else permanently!
