This is another in a line of games that have absolutely no cheats (inf lives, invincibility, etc.) info on it is sparse on the net to say the least, but I've played it and found it was the Famicom version of Demon Sword. Now I know you can't make Game Genie codes for Famicom games from what I've heard, and since FCEU can't run the game correctly (Virtua NES can, I've yet to test it in any other emu's I have for NES/Famicom) I'm wondering if there's either ways to make codes for it, or perhaps a cheat file that can load in VNES?

I can't believe it. For some reason I can't find a place to download the latest version of FCEUXD (1.0). So I uploaded it to my webspace. Use this emulator cause it runs that game perfectly (I think).

And here's a couple codes for this game.

    Fudou Myouou Den

    Infinite Lives
    0077:09
Have Infinite Retries (Human Symbol Powerup)
    021E:09

I'll make some more as I figure this game out.

It's quite a nice little game, a sequel to Legend of Kage a classic itself.

I've noticed two major differences between the U.S. and Japanese versions:

      1) The Japanese version has more spells you can gain, plus tons more items to pick up.

      2) U.S. version 7 stages, Japanese 13 stages.

Thanks for the codes man I was able to fully enjoy the game without having to save state every few seconds.

Ya, I think I may have noticed that there are more items now. From a faq for demon sword I saw no mention of that human power up. The one that lets you keep retrying the game. Here is 2 more codes.

        Have Phoenix
        021F:01
        Have Key
        0220:01

Sweet mercy you're a fast worker at hacking games.

That looks like that covers all the major areas of Fudou Myuou Dou, the game is definitely much more beatable now (especially infinite phoenixes).

Difference #3 and I just remembered this, Demon Sword U.S. has only one stage with holes in the ground (pitfalls), so the phoenix was useless after the first level. But seeing as this game has several stages with pitfalls having an unlimited amount of phoenixes gives more leeway for blind jumps (in some parts jumps are leaps of faith).

So that's where that post went. I meant to put that last post in another thread. Owell. Yeah, when I can I like to cover all bases when making codes for a game. I only tested these on the first level but from your comment I can see they work in all levels.

I'm sure I'm missing some codes cause I know when you go inside those locked rooms you are rewarded with some kind of prize, but since I don't know what they do I can't tell if they are activated thus can't make codes to activate them. Cause I wouldn't know if the codes I make are working.

There's a door spell for when you go in locked rooms, sometimes you have to fight a guardian in there and if you accidently go in the room, the spell will take you out of it.

I've also noticed the speed powerup seems to have no effect due to the fact Victar is already fast. I've noticed also two kinds of invincibilty icons (though one is not really invincibilty more like a quadruple chibi Victar icon).

That pretty much covers Demon Sword, up next Double Dragon 2 Genesis, all I ever see is infinite time codes, which does no good due to the games poorer controls, you'd need infinite lives to be able to do anything in that game.

Yeah, the speed powerup has subtle effects and I'm not sure if it gives you any advantage. I did try to make that code to quadruple the guy or whatever it's called but it didn't turn out. It looks like I had the code to activate it but I must need another code to put it into effect. I may go back and try to make the code again later.

As for Double Dragon II. I've already hacked that game. You can find those codes on the main page. I hacked all the Double Dragon games for Genesis cause DD is one of my favorite game series. I tried to make a few codes for each game to make them a little more fun cause most of the DD games on Genesis sucked.

To me the first game's controls were absolutely atrocious, moves couldn't be pulled off with consistency, it seems they only wanted to work when they wanted to.

That, and your atttacks didn't always connect like they were supposed to. It was ridiculous how the enemies mimicked your every move.

Just played DD 2 (played 3 long ago and beat it w/o cheats), and the controls are much better than the first but it's hard to get used to the arcade version because of the 3 button control scheme, plus the fact is different ways of facing requires different button presses, same with jump kicking. But I digress it's a better game, but the best version still goes to Duo.

Hopefully Magic Engine implements a cheat engine soon (according to the emulator creator it's on the way sometime in a later ME 1.0 Revision) it would be nice to be able to see further on some of their games, but I feel kind of guilty that my gaming reflexes have slowed from too many new games.

Anyway next challenge, Rainbow Islands Gameboy Color.

A cheat function in Magic engine eh? Are they adding a cheat searcher too? If they do I would like hacking for that system. I'd have to start figuring out how to use that and get roms or whatever but maybe it would allow us to find any unused features in Dracula X. I remember Anapan saying there was a unused level on it.
