  • Akumajou Dracula X - Chi No Rondo

Here's some cheats for the TurboGrafx-CD game Akumajou Dracula X - Chi No Rondo aka Castlevania: Rondo Of Blood in both MagicEngine and Turbo Engine 16 formats. =P

    MagicEngine format:

    Infinite Health
    F82098:5C

    Infinite Hearts
    F82094:99

    Infinite Lives
    F8208D:99

    Invincibility
    F83460:1

    Turbo Engine 16 format:

    Infinite Health
    1F0098:5C

    Infinite Hearts
    1F0094:99

    Infinite Lives
    1F008D:99

    Invincibility
    1F1460:1

Note: The invincibility code was found by Squaresoft74, I only ported it to Turbo Engine 16's format. The others were found by Squaresoft74 first but I decided to re-hack them and find the correct values.

    Enjoy!

What's up King, nice to see you on this forum too.
I have these codes, along with a one hit kills code. Are these ones wrong?

    Infinite health - F82098:92
    Infinite hearts - F82094:153
    Infinite lives - F8208D:153
    Invincibility - F83460:1
Kill boss with one hit - F812B8:1

No, nothing wrong with them but their data is set too high. I've noticed they cause graphical glitches so I decided to find the right/max data values. :P Actually, the one I have for infinite health is actually a touch too high, which I'll fix later. :P

Yeah, I know there's a 1 hit kill one but I haven't figured out how to convert it to Magic Engine 16 yet, so I didn't bother with it.

P.S. Fixed the infinite health code value.

It seems the values of these codes are in decimal instead of hexadecimal.
        92 its $5C and 153 is $99.

Yep, but when I use the value for 100 ($64) the health bar goes over bounds, so I'm not sure what's going on there. But with $5C, it should look 'normal'.

            Hey,

The codes are great but there is one minor thing that bothers me, When I get to the end of the stage I am forced to turn them off. Meaning pausing the game and dissableing them. Normally I wouldn't care but for some reason when I click on the code to turn off, If I am not carefull and miss the check box it closes the emulator loosing my save data.
Is there any way around deactivating them, Or because the value is frozen at 99, The score will just keep going up? Until turned off.
            Any info is cool.

            Thanks,

You've probably always gotta disable them at level's end.

Never tried, give it a go with the MagicEngine codes and tell me if they do. I should see if I can port them to ArtMoney at some point too!

These codes have not been added to the database. There's not even an entry for this game in the database, which is surprising considering it's one of the most popular games for the TG-CD.

The format of those codes looks odd. Does the life code give you 99 lives or 153 lives? It seems like he's using decimal values and not hexadecimal and if that's the case, he should be writing 0x63 instead of 0x99.

IIRC, it was 153 or some other number rather than 99. All I did was change it to a 9 and freeze the value so I had 9 lives the whole game.

But I know the addresses are correct as I used Infinite Health, Lives, Invincibility, and Hearts and they all worked correctly. The only code that didn't seem to work for me (but I only used it on one boss, so I don't know) was the "1 hit kills boss" code.

OldSchoolGamer: Do you still have the game? If so, could you check to see if writing 0x63 instead of 0x99 would ease the confusion of those code(s)?

Magic Engine does not put the values in hex format. If the value says 99, then it's 99.

Well, when 99 is inserted into the value spot, the visual display of LIVES in the game does not display 99. The same goes for Hearts. Try it yourself and you'll see what I mean.

But the visual display can be a "fake" display and not represent the true number of lives.
