  • NES Fire Emblem Gaiden FCEU codes

I have hacked some codes for NES Fire Emblem Gaiden (J), sometimes known as Fire Emblem 2, using Artemis 251's English-language patch. This set of codes is for the first chars in the game. I'll add others in subsequent posts as I hack'em, but these should get ya started.

    Anyway, here are the codes:

NES FCEU Codes for Fire Emblem Gaiden (J)(All Values Hexidecimal)

    Codes affecting all characters

magic defense(Note:Not needed if you use the "max HP" codes!)
    7490: 63
movement range almost unlimited(Note: Do NOT set value above 49 decimal or the game will reset!)
    7491: 31

I have discovered some major-league glitches with the char codes I hacked, so if anyone copied them from this post, please disregard. i have some time, so I'm gonna iron out the probs, & post the codes again ONLY after I play the game completely through with them. I HATE to post bad codes as much as I hate copying them! So, if anyone used my char codes & had any probs, I apologize. (The above codes are OK!)

    Fire Emblem Gaiden Item digits

First, a few points...many of the character codes seemta be interactive, as they are in Fire Emblem 1, sometimes cancelling each other out, etc. etc.. Second, I used the names for the chars and items as found in one of the three available patches in Artemis' site. These names may or may not be the same as those in the patch YOU use.

Third, I've found a way to obtain the items you want without having to fill your code screen with a whole poop loada codes unless you want to. Here are the item slots just in case you wanna use them. But bear in mind that no matter what item you enter a value for with these slots codes, the slot will remain empty until some item is in it, then that item will become the one you selected with a code.

    items slots

    first slot
    744F: XX
    2nd slot
    7450:XX
    3rd slot
    7451: XX

I think there are sixteen slots available.

But here's the best way to obtain your items, automatically transferring them to the items slots! For Alm, the "have item" code is 6B03: XX. For Celica, it's 6B7A: XX. Just change "XX" to the digit of the item you want, & on the game screen select the 'store' option. Every time you store an item, it will be placed into an item slot & stored until you're ready to give it to a character. Simply change the item digit to whatever items you wishta store, click 'store' on the game screen, and - VOILA! Be sure to make your last item selection the one you wishta equip Alm or Celica with, then turn off the code in case you wanna change their items.
    Well, here are the codes:

    Have/equip item, Alm
    6B03: XX
    Have/equip item, Celica
    6B7B: XX

Is it posible to find codes to "Have X character"?

The reason I'm asking is because the game has a bunch of endings depending who was in your party or who died and stuff.

I dunno, Rey. I'm still working on the various character codes. You COULD kill off the chars ya don't want and not revive them, or, simply not speak to them when ya first meet'em so they don't join your party at all.

I can't make any promises, but I'll see what I can do. Meanwhile, maybe someone else can work on this as well.

        P. S.

I haven't been able to make any "any char can have any magic" codes yet. I'm open to suggestions, especially if someone who's a better hacker than I comes up with any.

But do you get to have all the characters by the end of the game or do you get to pick from the depending on what chapter you play?

I'm assuming it's like the GBA ones where there are branching paths.

It depends upon which paths you take. in what order. For example, there's a char named Zeke, who has a girlfriend named Teeta, who's imprisoned in a fort called Nuimabar on Fear Mountain. Free her first before fighting a group of enemies outside Rigel Town that includes Zeke. When Zeke sees Teeta in your party, he instantly becomes Alm's ally and leads his men against the others who are fighting Alm's party. In Rigel Town after the battle, have Alm speak to Zeke, & he joins Alm's party. But if you don't rescue Teeta first, Zeke fights Alm's party & is slain.

There are three walkthroughs on the Game Faqs site. They use different names for the chars than the patch uses, but you can figure them out easily enuff. They also tell ya how to get chars you don't automatically get as you advance thru the game. Also, you can arrange the order of your chars, but your best bet is to leave Alm & Celica as the heads of their respective parties.

BTW, I made a new set of codes which I believe are "clean" codes, but I'm gonna test'em by playing the game all the way through a coupla times to hopefully spot any glitches. I hope to have'em up this eve, but FOOTBALL is #1, & I'm gonna watch some games on TV.

FCEUCharacter Codes for Fire Emblem Gaiden (J)

Well, at last I have completed some glitch-free character codes for this game. BTW, the patch download contains three patches; be sure you use the correct one for your rom. I used the (J) rom, & the patch worx flawlessly. Thus, all the codes, including the ones previously posted are for the (J) version. I dunno if they'll work on other versions or not.

First, a few facts. you don't need to use the "Mag Def" code I previously posted, as the "99 HP codes make the char invincible, and using that code seemsta make the enemies a little more resistant to Magic attax. For the same reason I left off all "def" codes. However, if you want them, just add one digit or letter to the addies of each char's "luck" codes.

I played the game through twice with all the Character codes on, with no mishap. However, the game occasionally freezes during a battle, codes or no codes, so I highly recommend you save your game before every battle. And using the"power", "skill" & "luck" codes will cause your chars to do 60 or so damage with every hit, counter more often when attacked, score more "critical" hits, and seldom miss with an attack.

              Here are the codes:

(Celica's party only holds 15 characters, although there are 16 available. you must choose between having Sonia or Dean by fighting the one you don't want.)

What I don't want is having to play the game multiple times to reach the last level with multiple sets of characters.

I dunno what to tell ya there, Rey, except not to speak to the chars you don't want. Re-doing the characters is beyond my expertise right now, but there are several other hackers here who are far better than I am, who could prolly help you, especially on FCEUX, which offers more of a hacking engine than other NES emulators.
Again, I suggest you read the walkthroughs on Game Faqs which tell where each char may be acquired, so you can get/avoid the ones you wish.

Also, please note that I have finally finished all the Char codes.

I know nothing about this game, but are the various endings triggered by who is leading your party or by who you spoke with during the game? It would be cool if there was a cheat where you could just change a value and your main character would be another character (like a special weapon cheat that changes your weapon with whatever value you use), but it's gotta be much more complicated than that, right?
US NES games left to beat: 3
Last 2: Nobunaga's Ambition II and Gemfire

There's only the one ending I have been able to see. And your request is similar to Rey's. I'm afraid that making such codes is a little beyond my expertise, but I'm sure some of the better hackers here could do it if it's possible.

BTW, Mods, I have tested all the codes I've made for this game & they work glitch-free, if ya wanna add them to the database!
