  • FF7 Mod question

yeah,i have an idea.is it possible to manipulate the game that you speak for example with npc XYZ and after you talked with him a fight starts against a monster which i have chosen
and is it possible somehow to give the monster for example 1000% hp of my own? so you can fight the monster at any lvl and it depends how strong the monster is how strong you are ^^
i dont think thats possible ,but it would be cool.

    FF7 Mod question

So your are asking if it is possible to refight monsters? I'm sure it is possible. You should look at the codes for Castlevania Syphony of the Night. There's lots of refight monster codes. I tink FFVII also has a code that will let you change what monster during random battles.

Anyway, if you wanted to makle the code to refight that monster I would start a search just before you start the fight. Then after the fight do a greater than search. Play the game a little while then do a equal to search. Then restart to before the battle and do a lesser than search. Then greater than search after the fight. Play the game s'more and do a equal to search. Just repeat that until you find the code.

        FF7 Mod question

If someone normally says two tidbits of information and you wanted them to instead just say one tidbit then start a battle THAT could probably be done. Actually my notes say message display takes 3 bytes and combat takes 4, so we would still be a byte short, but you probably get the idea.

I'm thinking that being short one byte probably won't make much difference, as long as the extra needed one is added. I might be wrong, but it's only control codes, and those tend to be easily modified to different lengths, as long as the new setting is a valid one.

              FF7 Mod question

Well, I think you just need to start a search before you would talk to the person. Then after you talk to them and the flag is set then you do a greater than search. Then play the game some and then a equal to search.

Then go reset to before the flag was set and do a less than search. and before you talk to the guy do a equal to search. Then talk to him to set the flag again and then a greater then search. Repeat till you get a low number of results. I think you'll want to do this without leaving the room.

Ok, it's hard for me to give the exact method without the game in front of me. You should post the codes you found tho and I will add them to gshi.

                    FF7 Mod question

hm its for the pal version,it is an 8008 code and i dont know the difference :/ hm,but only the first code is 8008,i am able to port the other one,but how do i call it hmmm

                    Interference (lol)
                    8007B6C5 0XXX

yeah, the text begins to flicker.if you put a high value in,it flickers like an interference which you can get from your tv.
you should try first this code.

it works only for this npc (i think)

the other code gives you a grey dot beneath your head, nothing special.

hm i have some other nice codes if you want them, they are for ff8 for example and i didnt see them on the site.but i need to port them first,so i have to get ff8 ntsc somehow ^^

                    EDIT:

i uploaded a txt file with some ff7 codes,i hope you can read it well,i renamed some digits so you can imagine what status you have.also i have tested them not really on a psx, only on emulator,so they should work.

                        FF7 Mod question

So what town is that guy from? I could probably get to him pretty quick through the Debug Room and then tell you what to change to get a battle started. Never looked at a PAL game but on NTSC I recall text starting at 80115000 and the event scripting immediately follows.
