Request: Fire Bam (FDS)

This is an action adventure game like Zelda 2 or Legacy of the Wizard.

I've managed to find codes (which I submitted), but there is one I can't find at all. The money code. Money in this game is called "Fire" and is dropped by enemies.

Can anyone find a money code and superficially explain if something special needed to be done to find it?

I searched for increasing and decreasing values and even made some equal and not equal searches and came out empty.

I don't know why but the money value is nowhere to be found.
I have done some save state hacking with VirtuaNES and Hex Worshop and found the money on the following offsets:
89D8,89D9
Don't know how to convert them to PAR since these values doesn't seem to appear in ram.
Since its a FDS game...The money its stored somewhere else.

I remember a couple years ago trying to find codes for another FDS game and becoming extremely frustrating becaue I couldn't find them. Someone came up with a good explanation on why I couldn't find such a code on an FDS game, but the info seems lost to the ages now.

There's 2 versions of the rom one called Fire Bam 1988 Hal Laboratory and another one just called Fire Bam. It seems you have the second. I'll give it a look tonight.

The Fire Bam 1988 Hal Laboratory is the TOSEC version. Both TOSEC and GoodFDS versions are incorrectly dumped. I can tell they are the same game because both contain the exact same saved data (just select continue and you'll see).

I'm waiting for No-Intro and their pristine dumps.

I got an idea, since the enemies give you money in 1, 3 or 10 packs, how about a cheat that modifies what enemies drop?

Well Rey, you'll have to upload the rom you have to MediaFire or another simillar web, since my codes works on both roms I have:

Both 127kb

Ah it worked now. But you have to select "Continue". It doesn't work by starting a new game.

That was the reason we couldn't find it. Its stored out of the ram area. Don't have a clue why it stores the money there. Maybe someone with more knowledge can give us an answer.
