    Joker

    Unlock All Story Mode Options
    00356319 000000FF
    You need to beat the game once to load a game and get the menu that allows you to use all 3 costumes, skip chapters, and play nightmare difficulty.

    Invert Colors
    00252AA3 000000FF
    When you take damage, the screen inverts colors for a few seconds. Use the infinite health code with this. Use this with a joker command.

    Never Limp
    20252AA8 00000000
    When you take damage, you limp a little afterward. You might limp more depending on how much damage you take. This will prevent you from ever being slowed down.

    Camera Charge Always Max
    00252AC8 000000FF
    No ghost ever survives a 2nd shot. It causes 250 damage and gives you 9999 points for every shot that you take that damages a ghost.
    Right next to that address is also the currently equipped film amount too. It was either 00252ACA or 00252ACB.

      I have found some more tiny things, and a few using project artemis.

      Completed Game Menu
      00252a76 00000001
      When you complete the game for the first time and save it, and then load that save, you end up with this menu. Just load any game to get the menu.

      Freeze Ghost
      D0252402 00400110 (L2 + Up)
      00252e93 00000010 (On)
      D0252402 00400120 (L2 + Right)
      00252e93 00000000 (Off)

      Costume Modifier
      00356318 000000??
      It uses simple values like:
      00 = Normal Costume
      01 = Special 1
      02 = Special 2

      Difficulty Modifier
      00252a75 0000000?
      0 = Normal
      Anything that isn't 0 = Nightmare

      Black and White Visuals
      0026c813 00000001 (on)
      or
      0026c813 00000000 (off)
      This is how the game normally looks when you use Mafuyu when you start a new game. You can easily turn it on and off with a button combination, it needs to be set before you start playing.

      Character Select
      00345c00 0000000?
      0 = Mafuyu
      Anything other than 0 = Miku

      Blur Modifier
      D0252402 00400140 (L2 + Down)
      30200010 0026c7e0 (Increase)
      D0252402 00400180 (L2 + Left)
      30300010 0026c7e0 (Decrease)
      It's interesting to see. Things start getting a little blurry, then the center of the screen becomes a growing white circle that can cover the whole screen.

      Blurry Visuals
      003563c4 00000001
      This is definitely not the same as the above code. I'm not sure what this is, but you can freeze it with 003563bc 00000000. There's different slight visual things from address 0035639c to 003563d0 that also aren't the thing I'm looking for.

      Maximum Light Source Radius
      1026c7f8 00000000
      Minimum Light Source Radius
      1026c7f8 0000FFFF
      It doesn't really increase the brightness. It changes how far light extends from light sources. If you set it to minimum, it's definitely not pitch black but you will have trouble seeing some stuff unless you are walking around while looking through your camera.

      There are quite a bit of different visual modifications from address 0026c7e0 to 0026c820. They aren't that special. One of them made a translucent stretched image of other camera viewpoints on the screen, another messed with how dim lights were, and another only worked with the black and white visual mode to increase that weird old static looking noise effect on the screen.

      Redundant And Unnecessary Infinite Health
      202065e8 03e00008
      202065ec 00000000

      Debug Stuff
      40265d00 006b0001
      00000001 00000000
      I have no idea of what any of the junk is.

        Thanks Bungholio for the codes.

        I have the Japanese version and it always drove me nuts the way how slowly the main character moved about, not being able to get to the right position in time to take photos of fast moving ghosts (the ones that go towards building the ghost list).

        Then I stumbled upon this terrific code (AR2V2) that worked really well:

        (M)
        EC878308 1456E60A

        Move Faster
        1CB1D47C 1456E7A6

        I've recently manged to get brand new US versions of FF1 thru 3 - I'd be extremely grateful (and up your TP points) if you could hack a faster movement code for this game (and hopefully the others in this series)...

          That sounds very possible. I should be able to whenever I get the chance at some point in time with my computer.

          I just took a look around, and can't find the Japanese version's ELF file. If you have it, send it please.

            Hi Bungholio,

            I'm still not quite sure what an ELF file is after googling, but the first line of the SYSTEM.CNF reads:

            BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SLPS_250.74;1

            I'm attaching this file; hope this is something you can use.

            Thanks!

                I just checked, and so far the elf files for the NTSC version and the Japan version seem to be identical. Any code for the Japanese version should work for the NTSC version just the way they are as long as you decrypt them so they work for your cheat device.

                  Thanks, bungholio.

                  This might be the wrong place to ask this, but do you think you could hack a faster movement code for FF2 and FF3? There doesn't seem to be any for these two games...

                    I checked both versions of Fatal Frame 1. They seem to be the same exact elf file, so the japanese codes should work perfectly for the US version.

                      I think Fatal Frame has received mostly positive reviews, it is highly considered one of the scariest video games for the PS2.
