  • Saturday Night Slammasters (SNES) Clone Characters?

This is going to seem like an unhealthy fixation (okay, it IS an unhealthy fixation) after my request for a similar code on TMNT:TF (thanks again, Hybrid!), but I was wondering if there could be any way to remove the "no clones" limitation in Saturday Night Slammasters for Super Nintendo?

There are already codes from Galoob for Game Genie that will replace other character spots so that you can have clone match ups to some degree. Would it be possible to develop a code that removes the "block" from when a cursor is on a character and allow all four people to select a single person?

Right now I am messing with Geiger's SNES 9X to try to develop a code like this (but no luck so far thanks to my shoddy techniques). Is this the best tool for the job? It seems to have a lot of the necessary features but if there is something better I should be using let me know.

And any hints on SNES hacking in general are welcome, I've seen a few guides floating around and I'm trying my best to muck around and get some results. I'll let you guys know if I figure out anything (doubtful), and thank you in advance for any help!

WOW! You absolutely ROCK! The code works great on the real hardware in both versus and battle royale. The only issues seem to be some missing sprites for clones throwing each other, but as far as I can tell everything else works fantastic and there are no serious problems.

You've been a big help in enhancing our multiplayer gaming nights, Hybrid! Indy Heat, Turtles Tournament Fighters, and now Slammasters are going to be way more fun thanks to your efforts. Thank you so very much, your work is EXCELLENT and breathes needed life into these classics! :-)
