  • A querry about Soul Calibur 3 (PS2)

Just a quick question. I know it's probably not doable, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

In the Custom Character mode, is there any code that would allow me switch back and forth between the armor sets from Male to Female?

I ask because the guys got shafted on armor options. The girls have way more optional equipment.

I have both a CodeBreaker and an AR Max.

    Thanks in advance.

Hah, well, I suppose that's possible. I've always been of the same opinion about the armor. For that matter, most of the character creation options. But I'm not sure if someone's going to find a code that will do that. The case might be that in order for that to be possible, the objects in question might have to be 'refitted' to the male model. You see, things are proportioned differently... but that really goes without saying. Basically, things like helmets and maybe some other things could (in theory) easily transfer, because the male and female character models have similar heads (in size and shape). But something tells me that things would get... odd, if body armor were switched around. However, things like gauntlets/arm equipment, shoulder equipment, some footwear (armored boots that don't go up the leg, for example), and maybe a few belt/pants items could be transferred. I'd like to see a code allow that, but I'd be pretty shocked if that comes about. You never know, it could happen.

Someone should probably move any SC3 codes/requests to one thread though. I've posted one as well, and there's probably been more before or after me, so maybe a merge is in order. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the reply. I know it's pretty unlikely, but like I said, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Well, either way, it's an interesting concept. Altering character creation capabilities sounds like a great idea, if at all possible and to whatever extent it would be. It's kind of like an idea I had that maybe there's a way to play as standard (story, not custom created) characters in Chronicle mode, it's unlikely but anything's possible and that sort of thing is pretty cool. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if there's at least a little that was blocked off in terms of custom items or whatever. For all we know there could be a whole denied class, or some characters that were removed from play before release. They left some spare characters in Soul Blade (PSX, the direct prequel to the original Soul Calibur), so who's to say that they weren't just as sloppy at covering their tracks as they were back then. Maybe with the items and classes it would reveal something (or nothing, if there isn't anything new to see) if someone made a code that could select which job a character in one of the custom slots has - choosing variables that are beyond the standard jobs might be the best way to find out if there's anything past there, and as you know, each job has default equipment sets and therefor maybe a blocked class would have blocked equipment or even blocked weapon(s). Maybe a job class select code would allow what you wanted, other gender clothing/equipment, because male and female jobs might have different values on that sort of code and if it changes gender without changing clothing then it might do exactly what you wanted a code for! Wow! That would be awesome.
