  • FCEU Ultra and Dual Shock Controllers

Thanks to everyone who helped me with NES GG codes. Its just been too frustrating to rely on my NES because of all the glitches and freezing so I'm gonna move on to ROMs for awhile. I downloaded all the right programs but I want to get some controllers. Do Dual Shock controllers (with USB 2.0) work with the old NES games on emulators?

I use a PSX/PS2 controller to USB 2.0 connector, and it indeed works with every single emulator I use. Only cost me $4.45 USD.
(You can get them even cheaper, I just don't like bidding...)

I have the old Radio Shack PSX to USB device that works well if you can find one. The above should work well too. Also i was able to get the PS3 controler to work (in linux no less) but SixAxis made it difficult to map the buttons. A 3rd party Wired controler will work as well. Alas now i have a Logitec USB rumble gamepad that i found for 1.99USD.
Cant stand the 32 bit and above gaming.

Thanks for the info guys, its a big help. I hate buying stuff and being stuck with it if it doesnt work. Memorize, I found the exact item in your post for only 3.45 and I got a pair of them. I appreciate the advice. I guess the Mods can close this post out, thanks.

Nah. This post will be usefull for others.

Another note is if a controler or device handles the USB HID joystick protocol it should work with linux, Window and Mac. Also your question actualy isnt much of a emulator dependent question because the adpapter you got will work for other emulators as well.

For example i use my PSX to USB with FAKENES (linux windows) BGM (windows) SNES9X (Windows, Mac Linux) ZSNES (windows Linux) VBA-M (windows Linux) Ines (Mac) Nesticle (dos Windows) PCSX (windows Linux) and some others.

I probably should have mentioned that one USB converter has slot 1 and slot 2 controller hook ups. Or maybe you just wanted 2 for two different computers.

I did just realize the converter has 2 slots for controllers. I got 2 controllers for 2 separate computers. I've been gradually introducing NES games to my girlfriend and she wants to give it a try. She'll get to enjoy the classics for the first time, unfortunately I still have to beat some terrible games: Metal Mech, Shingen the Ruler, Dirty Harry, ect. I'm looking forward to her first time experiences with games that Ive been appreciating for over 20 years.
