  • Game Genie with an NES Toploader/NES-101?

I was way too eager to try out a Game Genie with the code that Hybrid fixed for me (thanks again), so I ordered one and received it just to find out that you can't really use this thing in a toploader NES.

Apart from the impossible to find adapter or buying a toaster NES, do I have any options? Thanks for any help!

well there is always jamming the GG down so it fits.
use a 60 to 72 pin adapter with a 72 to 60 pin on top of that then have the GG fit (might not work well)

i personally use the Game Genie Adapter

Haha, you lucky SOB! Much envy over here.

I did decide to just jam it in because I was antsy for my code fix, hopefully I won't ever need to remove it. Which games are incompatible? I heard of Castlevania 3 and Fester's Quest. Do those work if you don't put in codes? I don't plan on buying either any time soon so it's not a big deal but I was just curious.

If you have trouble getting the Game Genie code screen to come up, try pressing start, then turn the power off
and back on quickly. This doesn't apply to emulators.

from the castlevania 3 code page

so i'm assuming that it will work for those games i have not really tried using a game genie with those games

It's been awhile, but I'm pretty sure that I tried some Game Genie codes on a Fester's Quest cart and they worked fine.

Very strange, so are there really any games that are genuinely incompatible?

That's great news, though! Now I won't be afraid to pick them up if I get the chance and I should be okay with leaving the Game Genie in there.
