  • Haunting Ground (PS2) Code Request

Okay, so here's the thing. I was hoping that someone has or can create a code for Haunting Ground (also known as Demento in Japan, but I have the US release) that allows me to walk right over or around the pits in the Dark Room.

A "Walk Through Walls" code would probably be the best idea for this one. And I'm sure there are other places and times when this could come in handy, too.

Personally, I always like looking for stuff that's hidden away where the player normally can't see it. I laughed at some of the stuff I found in SH4 that way.

Since this game is very similar to a lot of other games in the genre in some regards (character motion controls, for one thing), I think it's entirely possible. Walk Through Walls codes are pretty popular, so I'm sure it'll get used.

Any other codes that might assist in this situation (I've tried twenty times, and only made it across the first trip five times, and never made it back across on the return trip) would also be greatly appreciated. If I find any interesting codes out there I'll post them.

    Thanks, everyone.

    Respectfully yours,

http://www.codemasters-project.net/vb/ would probably be the place to ask for codes, but it probably won't be found since people are done with this game. You can still try though, somebody might just find it. I don't see any codes for the other countries' version of the game either, so there's nothing to port over. I can't find codes without having the game either.

      Thanks, I.D.K.

I'll check out CMP. I should also check to see what Action Replay codes there are out there, because there might just be one that can help.
Anyhoo, anyone who does have the game, though, I'd be glad to hear if you have any codes for this game that aren't on the disk.

I checked the 3 official sites, codetwink (codebreaker), codejunkies (AR Max), gameshark (gameshark.com). None of them have a walk through walls code. I saw unlock all levels or something, infinite health for the girl and dog, always invisible, infinite items, no skirt, a code for ultra big boobs, and probably a few other codes I forgot.

Yeah, I looked there too (with the exception of gameshark, because there's something weird with my user - I can log in, but it logs me back out again whenever I click a link, and the codes never show up when I try to look at them!), but I posted a request on the code-masters project's forum. Hopefully someone will be able to help from there.
There was also an interesting one on there that I'd not seen before: Fiona's Kick = One Hit Kills.
Now, granted, that code would kind of take a lot of the fun out of the game, but I'll post a link to it or put it here with credit to it's creator. They're working on converting it to the NTSC U-C version, since it was originally a PAL code. The person who requested it is using gameshark, but it's easy enough to convert it to CB.

Anyway, I did some tampering with the codes that were built into the standard CB codes for this game, and discovered that the big boobs codes can be modified to the opposite effect - her breasts get smaller, and even cave in entirely! It's weird, because the modification I used created a weird glitch in the center of her chest. I tried modifying the "No Skirt" code, but I must be doing something wrong, because even when I increase the code's values, trying to make the skirt longer than it normally would be, it's still gone. Maybe the code only applied to the disappearance of the skirt. Also, it looks like some of those codes disagree with the "Always Invisible" code... Weird.
I made a few other requests on CMP, so I'm looking forward to that.

I checked the skirt code. It disappears because the code sets register $f12 to 0. Normally it's:
            lwc1 $f12, $0040(s2) (c64c0040).

I have something for you to separately try without the no skirt code on.

            202f86e0 0c02a000
            200a8000 27a40080
            200a8004 3c0d4000
            400a800c 000c0001
            ae4d0030 00000004
            200a8ff8 03e00008

With most games, things that use floats have the value 3f800000 for 1, the default value. This sets a bunch of things right next to the skirt length address to 40000000, which is 2. Just look around for things that have doubled in size. The skirt should also be twice as long. I just hope the game doesn't freeze.

Nope, it only works until you try to load/start your game or try to access the bonus features area from the main menu, then it freezes at the loading screen (about half way through the loading process, I'd estimate). Basically, the game works until it tries to load the 3D model of Fiona, and then the modification to her dress interferes.

Thank you for trying, though! Since it doesn't automatically freeze (aka the game not starting up), that means the code is well and correctly made. It wouldn't get as far as it did if it had any serious conflicts. My guess is that this game just can't handle a longer dress than she's already got. If someone else who has the game can prove me wrong, then that's lovely, but until then, it's just a pipe dream.

I bet that it boils down to the likely case (judging by what happens with the code) that, in reality, they created some sort of restriction. Actually, to elongate the skirt beyond it's default would require the texture to be longer than it already is. The skirt can 'shrink' because that's just using less of the texture map, but I guess it can't 'stretch'. Oh well.

I've still not found a Walk Through Walls (W.T.W.) code yet, but I did get a reply on the "kick=one hit kills" conversion from PAL to NTSC, so that's good.
But it only works for kicking, not for usage of the alternate attack methods that the unlockable costumes provide. That means that, convenient as ranged attacks may be, they're still not lethal in one hit. Which is strange. But whatever.

Here's the link to that code, as well as some others:
              http://www.codemasters-project.net/v...aunting+ground

Hopefully all that's been said and done here will help someone other than just me
I'll post it and give credit here if someone makes a W.T.W. code for this game

              Thanks again.

I doubt they have a skirt length restriction. This should work strictly for the skirt.

                202f86e0 0c02a000
                200a8000 27a40080
                200a8004 3c0d4000
                200a800c ae4d0040
                200a8ff8 03e00008

Something interesting comes to mind. Changing that yellow 4000 to c000 will change it from 2 to -2. I wonder what a negative value on the skirt would do?

I'd assume there was something bad in the code that shouldn't be messed with. Usually it's something before the normally used offset (0040). This below one removes the ones before 0040. But now it affects so little, it might just only affect the skirt length.
