My request is for a real code to have maximum weight to win tournaments. This only changes the on screen number, no the real value. When you weigh your fish at the end, it shows the real weight and you lose.

If you play the game on VBA, make sure it's on GBC mode only, or else the game will not play. Here's a zip with a save state after catching 1 seabass on the last tournament, another save state without catching any seabass, a battery save at the start of that tournament (with zero fish) and the bios I used to play the game (stupid VBA won't load the save state without the specific bios).

I included both save states in case you need to compare values or something.

To win the tournament you have to catch the 5 biggest seabass, no other fish counts. It's a f*cking pain in the ass to find and catch the seabass, that's why you have the states.

To see your current fish weight just press B, select fish, then livewell. You'll see the total there.

To see who wins the tournament and on what place you ended just dock into the pier there. (Maybe a cheat can be made to automatically win? or to be in 1st place regardless of fish?)

This has been driving me mad for a week now, I appreciate any help I can get.

And if you do find a good cheat, let me know the exact process you did to find it, because this game is actually part 3 of the Japanese Super Black Bass Fishing and I have to tackle part 2 next.
The games are so alike that the same cheat will probably work for both games too. Here's hoping it does.

mainly not being able to see where the weight data is stored for the fish entries in the livetank i can see where the current viewed fish weight is but not much else. also a placement code is rather difficult if i cannot place higher than last

if you were wondering why i went with a Game Genie code for the infiite Lures is because it would have taken 9-?? GS codes to get the same result because all the lure amounts are written to the same location
